Deze aerodynamische en \u2018productierijpe\u2019 2+2 is gebouwd op het MEB+-platform van het merk en belooft een recordlaag stroomverbruik.<\/p>\n<p>Het \u2018Mission Efficiency\u2019-concept van Volkswagen lijkt op een moderne herinterpretatie van de iconische XL1 van het merk. Dat is het elektrische platform voor compacte auto\u2019s met voorwielaandrijving dat onder andere voor de ID. Polo wordt gebruikt.<\/p>\n<p>In tegenstelling tot de XL1 maakt het nieuwe concept veel minder gebruik van geavanceerde technologie\u00ebn. Het maakt gebruik van de elektromotor van 99 kW (135 pk) en de NMC-accu met een netto-capaciteit van 54,9 kWh, die ook in auto\u2019s als de ID. Polo wordt gebruikt.<\/p>\n<p>Maar om het bereik te maximaliseren, is het voertuig afhankelijk van aerodynamische effici\u00ebntie, die door VW wordt aangeprezen als een wereldrecord voor een \u2018productieklaar\u2019 concept. Het prototype beschikt over een EU-typegoedkeuring en voldoet aan de voorschriften inzake bescherming van de inzittenden en botsveiligheid.<\/p>\n<h4>Drie wereldrecords<\/h4>\n<p>Het merk heeft namelijk drie wereldrecords op zijn naam staan. Het eerste is een Cx-waarde van 0,158 \u2013 waarmee dit het meest aerodynamische voertuig is dat op de openbare weg mag rijden. Het tweede record is een verbruik van 6,48 kWh\/100 km onder \u2018ideale\u2019 omstandigheden, bij een constante snelheid van 68 km\/u op een vlak wegdek en zonder gebruik te maken van de airconditioning.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-193945\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ME_Rekordfahrt_EN-scaled.jpg?resize=640%2C360&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ME_Rekordfahrt_EN-scaled.jpg?w=2560&amp;ssl=1 2560w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ME_Rekordfahrt_EN-scaled.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ME_Rekordfahrt_EN-scaled.jpg?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Het derde cijfer is indrukwekkend: een brandstofverbruik in de praktijk van 7,51 kWh\/100 km, inclusief laadverliezen (6,89 kW\/100 nettoverbruik).<\/p>\n<p>Deze prestatie werd neergezet tijdens een rit van 1.778,36 km van Wolfsburg naar Wenen, met een gemiddelde snelheid van 67,72 km\/u en een topsnelheid van 138 km\/u. De accu werd \u00e9\u00e9n keer opgeladen en bij de finish was er nog een actieradius van 164 kilometer over. .<\/p>\n<h4><b>Aerodynamische effici\u00ebntie versus accucapaciteit<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>De Mission Efficiency is 1.392 mm hoog, 1.744 mm breed en 4.775 mm lang. Daarmee is hij 722 mm langer dan de ID. Polo, voornamelijk dankzij een 100 mm langere wielbasis (2.700 mm) en een langere achteroverhang die naar het uiteinde toe smaller wordt, waardoor hij een druppelvormig ontwerp krijgt. Juist die aerodynamische vorm is de sleutel tot het recordbrekende stroomverbruik.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel de vorm van het model op zichzelf al goed is voor 47% van de aerodynamische effici\u00ebntie, wordt de lage luchtweerstand verder bereikt door actieve koelopeningen aan de voorkant, aerodynamische wielen en deflectoren, een volledig gesloten onderkant, ingekapselde achterwielen, verzonken deurgrepen en frameloze deurruiten.<\/p>\n<p>De achteruitkijkspiegels blijven traditioneel, aangezien uit windtunneltests is gebleken dat vervanging door camera\u2019s nauwelijks effect zou hebben. Bovendien beschikt de auto over een kofferbak van 481 liter en kan de achterbank worden neergeklapt om langere voorwerpen te vervoeren.<\/p>\n<p>Het is best praktisch, hoewel het nog steeds een 2+2-coup\u00e9 is. De meeste carrosseriepanelen zijn vervaardigd uit een lichtgewicht composietmateriaal op basis van CFRP en aramide. Het glazen dak is voorzien van een zonnepaneel van 370 W dat dagelijks een extra actieradius van maximaal 30 km kan opwekken.<\/p>\n<p>De voorremmen zijn standaard hydraulische remmen, maar op de achterwielen heeft VW elektromechanische remmen gemonteerd.
