Een jaar na de premi\u00e8re van de nieuwe BMW iX3 heeft het bedrijf bekendgemaakt dat alleen al in Europa 100.000 klanten het voertuig hebben besteld. BMW verklaarde dat dit de beste start in het eerste jaar is die een van zijn modellen ooit heeft gekend.<\/p>\n

Het bedrijf liet ook weten dat er grote belangstelling is voor de elektrische auto op andere markten, zoals China, waar de iX3 sinds kort kan worden besteld. De in M\u00fcnchen gevestigde autofabrikant heeft echter nog geen concrete cijfers voor China bekendgemaakt.<\/p>\n

Extra vaart<\/h4>\n

\u201c100.000 bestellingen binnen een jaar is een geweldige start voor het eerste model van de \u2018Neue Klasse\u2019, waarvan de uitrol steeds meer vaart krijgt\u201d, aldus verkoopdirecteur Jochen Goller. \u201cDit geeft ons extra vaart voor de toekomst van de elektrische mobiliteit.\u201d<\/p>\n

BMW streeft ernaar om tegen eind 2027 40 nieuwe en vernieuwde modellen met \u2018New Class\u2019-technologie\u00ebn op de markt te brengen. De bestellingen voor de i3 \u2013 het tweede model na de iX3 en de elektrische versie van de iconische 3-serie sedan\/stationwagen \u2013 gaan aan het einde van de maand van start.<\/p>\n

De in M\u00fcnchen gevestigde autofabrikant gebruikt de term \u2018Neue Klasse\u2019 of \u2018New Class\u2019 om zijn nieuwe generatie modellen te omschrijven, waarin een reeks nieuwe technologie\u00ebn is verwerkt. Hoewel de iX3 en i3 in eerste instantie elektrische auto\u2019s zijn, zijn veel van deze technologie\u00ebn ook bedoeld voor gebruik in voertuigen met verbrandingsmotoren. Prototypes van de nieuwe 3-serie met verbrandingsmotor worden wereldwijd al uitgebreid getest.<\/p>\n

Sinds de onthulling van de iX3 is dit model goed voor ongeveer een derde van alle bestellingen van elektrische auto\u2019s in Europa. Binnen de X3-serie maken elektrische auto\u2019s momenteel ongeveer de helft van alle bestellingen uit, wat ruim boven het merkgemiddelde ligt, dat op zijn beurt al behoorlijk hoog is in vergelijking met de concurrentie.<\/p>\n

BMW heeft vorig jaar wereldwijd iets minder dan 2,17 miljoen voertuigen van zijn hoofdmerk geleverd. Daarvan waren er 336.000 volledig elektrische auto\u2019s, wat het belang onderstreept van de 100.000 bestellingen voor de iX3 die alleen al in Europa zijn geplaatst.<\/p>\n

Een EV-doorbraak?<\/h4>\n

Volkswagen heeft onlangs ook bestelcijfers bekendgemaakt voor een nieuwe elektrische auto, de ID. Polo,<\/a> waarvoor het al 30.000 bestellingen heeft ontvangen. Dat model is pas sinds april te bestellen, dus men in Wolfsburg heeft hoge verwachtingen dat het een (elektrische) hit zal worden als hun kleinste elektrische auto tot nu toe.<\/p>\n
