Volgens EV Belgium, de Belgische vereniging voor elektrische voertuigen, tonen de huidige prijzen aan de pomp voor fossiele brandstoffen vooral aan dat Belgi\u00eb verder moet kijken dan tijdelijke maatregelen wanneer de olieprijzen stijgen. Voor EV Belgium bevestigt deze trend dat de overgang naar elektrische mobiliteit niet langer louter een klimaatkwestie is, maar in toenemende mate ook een kwestie van koopkracht, energiebeleid en geopolitieke onafhankelijkheid.<\/p>\n

Tijdens de presentatie van haar nieuwe Handvest 2030 verklaarde de brancheorganisatie dat een wagenpark van twee miljoen elektrische voertuigen tegen 2030 steeds realistischer wordt en een haalbare visie voor de toekomst vormt, mits vandaag de juiste politieke keuzes worden gemaakt.<\/p>\n

Nieuw handvest<\/h4>\n

Het handvest, dat vrijdag door leden van EV Belgium in Thor Park, Genk, werd ondertekend, stelt in dit verband drie prioriteiten vast: ten eerste, een ambitieus stappenplan tot 2035 voor alle voertuigsegmenten, met inbegrip van de snelle uitvoering van RED III; ten tweede, een consequente en voortdurende belastingverschuiving van elektriciteit naar fossiele brandstoffen; en ten derde, ondersteuning van de particuliere markt voor elektrische voertuigen door middel van particuliere leasing en een sterke tweedehandsmarkt.<\/p>\n

EV Belgium juicht de reeds in gang gezette belastingverschuiving toe, waarbij het prijsverschil tussen fossiele brandstoffen en elektriciteit kleiner wordt, maar omschrijft dit in het Handvest uitdrukkelijk als \u201ceen eerste stap, geen doel op zich\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe moeten de fundamentele vraag durven stellen: hoe lang willen we ons vervoerssysteem afhankelijk houden van een energiebron waarover Belgi\u00eb geen controle heeft, noch wat de productie betreft, noch wat de internationale prijsvorming betreft?\u201d, vraagt Philippe Vangeel, directeur van EV Belgium.<\/p>\n

Het Handvest stelt als centrale doelstelling een visie vast van twee miljoen elektrische voertuigen tegen 2030, gekoppeld aan een verdubbeling van de openbare laadinfrastructuur, een slim en flexibel elektriciteitsnet en elektrische mobiliteit die voor het publiek de goedkoopste optie blijft. EV Belgium pleit niet voor een terugkeer naar algemene aankoopsubsidies, maar wel voor een voorspelbaar kader waarin elektrisch rijden structureel aantrekkelijk wordt.<\/p>\n

Minder kwetsbaar<\/h4>\n

EV Belgium pleit voor de invoering van RED III tegen 2027, zodat ook particuliere bestuurders van elektrische voertuigen kunnen delen in de economische waarde van hernieuwbare elektriciteit. De ondertekenaars van het Handvest noemen elektrische mobiliteit dan ook expliciet als instrument voor strategische autonomie: hoe sneller de overgang naar elektrificatie, hoe minder kwetsbaar huishoudens en bedrijven zullen zijn voor geopolitieke schokken op de olie- en gasmarkten.<\/p>\n

\u201cElektromobiliteit gaat niet alleen over klimaatbeleid. Het gaat ook over koopkracht, energiebeleid en geopolitiek. Elke kilometer die we kunnen afleggen met Belgische en Europese elektriciteit in plaats van ge\u00efmporteerde olie, vermindert die afhankelijkheid\u201d, benadrukt Vangeel.<\/p>\n

Aanzienlijke besparingen<\/h4>\n

Een Belgische personenauto legt gemiddeld 14.172 kilometer per jaar af (volgens Car-Pass). Op basis hiervan,
\nEV Belgium heeft de geschatte jaarlijkse energiekosten van een auto op fossiele brandstof vergeleken met die van een elektrische auto.<\/p>\n

Volgens EV Belgium kan een bestuurder van een elektrische auto gemakkelijk \u20ac 925 per jaar besparen; de exacte besparing hangt af van het voertuig,
\nverbruiks- en oplaadgedrag, maar de orde van grootte is duidelijk. Toegepast op een Belgisch wagenpark van twee miljoen elektrische personenauto\u2019s in 2030 komt dit neer op ongeveer 1,8 miljard euro per jaar aan bespaarde benzine- en dieselkosten.<\/p>\n

Belgi\u00eb dankt zijn sterke positie op de huidige markt voor elektrische voertuigen voornamelijk aan bedrijfswagens: ongeveer 89% van de nieuw geregistreerde elektrische voertuigen zijn bedrijfswagens. Om een structurele verschuiving te bewerkstelligen, moet de particuliere markt nu volgen. Volgens EV Belgium blijkt uit analyses dat de aankoopprijs van elektrische auto\u2019s geen belemmering meer vormt, aangezien nieuwe voertuigen in bijna alle segmenten evenveel kosten, of ze nu elektrisch zijn of op fossiele brandstoffen rijden.<\/p>\n

Voor bestelwagens en zware vrachtwagens ligt het jaarlijkse verbruik van fossiele brandstoffen aanzienlijk hoger, en dat geldt ook voor
\nis hun kwetsbaarheid voor hoge dieselprijzen; juist op dit punt heeft Belgi\u00eb nog een aanzienlijke achterstand in te halen, zo wijst EV Belgium erop.<\/p>\n

Vangeel vraagt dan ook: \u201cWie betaalt vandaag de rekening voor de Belgische transportsector, waar voertuigen soms meer dan 100.000 kilometer per jaar afleggen? Dat is de volgende stap die we gaan zetten.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vernieuwde huisstijl<\/h4>\n

Met de lancering van het Handvest introduceert EV Belgium ook zijn vernieuwde huisstijl, \u201ceen symbool van de transitie die de Belgische markt voor elektrische voertuigen momenteel doormaakt: van een pioniersmarkt gericht op snelle uitrol naar een volwassen ecosysteem waarin kwaliteit, betaalbaarheid en het vertrouwen van de gebruiker centraal staan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Het Handvest omschrijft dit als de overgang \u201cvan uitrol naar volwassenheid\u201d: het gaat niet langer alleen om het hebben van zoveel mogelijk elektrische voertuigen en oplaadpunten, maar om het aanbieden van het juiste aanbod, op de juiste locaties, tegen transparante prijzen en met een betrouwbare gebruikerservaring.<\/p>\n

\u201cGezien de huidige energieprijzen zijn wij er vast van overtuigd dat het doel om tegen 2030 twee miljoen elektrische voertuigen te hebben realistischer is dan ooit.
