Hoewel de Belgische spoorwegmaatschappij NMBS\/SNCB de nieuwe dienstregeling voor alle provincies nog niet volledig heeft bekendgemaakt, zullen er in veel gebieden vanaf zondag 13 december extra vroege en late treinen gaan rijden.<\/p>\n

In het hele land zal het nieuwe vervoersplan voor 2026-2029 \u2013 dat in drie fasen zal worden ingevoerd van december 2026 tot en met december 2028 \u2013 zorgen voor bijna 600 extra treinen per week en een verbetering van de dienstverlening op 178 stations.<\/p>\n

Oost- en West-Vlaanderen<\/h4>\n

Zo vertrekt er kort na middernacht vanuit Brussel een extra S-trein in de late uurtjes richting Oost-Vlaanderen. Die trein, die rond 1 uur \u2019s nachts in Zottegem aankomt, stopt ook in Liedekerke, Denderleeuw, Welle, Haaltert, Ede, Burst, Terhagen, Herzele en Hillegem.<\/p>\n

Aalst, Erembodegem en Denderleeuw krijgen op werkdagen ook elk half uur een rechtstreekse verbinding naar Etterbeek, vlakbij de campus van de VUB.<\/p>\n

In West-Vlaanderen rijdt er op zondag een vroegere trein van De Panne naar Gent (om 05.52 uur) en \u2019s avonds een latere trein in de tegenovergestelde richting (om 21.53 uur). In het weekend rijden er in beide richtingen twee treinen per uur tussen Brugge en Kortrijk. Op weekdagen komen er drie extra treinen bij tijdens de spits: tijdens de ochtendspits van Blankenberge naar Brugge, en tijdens de avondspits van Brugge naar Knokke en van Brugge naar Zeebrugge.<\/p>\n

Ook extra vroege en late treinen naar Walloni\u00eb<\/h4>\n

Ook in Walloni\u00eb zullen er extra vroege en late treinen rijden. Zo rijden er op vrijdag- en zaterdagavond in Waals-Brabant extra late S8-treinen, met de laatste afvaart van Brussel-Centraal naar Louvain-la-Neuve om 23.52 uur en de laatste aankomst in Brussel-Centraal om 00.08 uur. Ook op de lijn Brussel-Ottignies zullen er extra treinen rijden. Daarnaast wordt het nieuwe station Braine-Alliance in Eigenbrakel geopend.<\/p>\n

In de provincie Namen rijdt er vanaf 05.33 uur een nieuwe P-trein tussen Namen en Gembloux. De treinen tussen Dinant en Namen rijden \u2019s avonds een uur langer en komen om 23.08 uur aan in Namen. Ten slotte rijdt er in Luxemburg op weekdagen een nieuwe IC-trein tussen Arlon en Luxemburg, die om 05.29 uur vertrekt, en rijden er \u2019s avonds meer treinen tussen Libramont en Bertrix.<\/p>\n

In Walloni\u00eb zijn er nog meer veranderingen dan alleen vroege en late treinen: op zaterdag rijdt er elk half uur \u2013 in plaats van elk uur \u2013 een IC-trein op de belangrijkste Waalse lijn tussen Mons, La Louvi\u00e8re, Charleroi, Namen, Huy en Luik.<\/p>\n

Betere bereikbaarheid van stations<\/h4>\n

De wijzigingen, die op 13 december van kracht worden en deel uitmaken van de eerste fase van het vervoersplan 2026-2029, zullen vanaf 28 september beschikbaar zijn in de NMBS\/SNCB-reisplanner. Verdere aanpassingen zijn gepland voor eind 2027 \u2013 waaronder nachttreinen vanuit Brugge, Gent en Brussel naar Brussels Airport \u2013 en eind 2028. Als gevolg hiervan zal het aantal treindiensten in 2029 naar verwachting met 3% toenemen ten opzichte van 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cDe uitbreidingen blijven afhankelijk van aanvragen van andere spoorwegexploitanten, de capaciteit die door spoorwegnetbeheerder Infrabel wordt toegewezen, de voltooiing van infrastructuurprojecten en de levering van nieuwe treinen,\u201d voegt NMBS\/SNCB hieraan toe.<\/p>\n

Daarnaast blijft NMBS\/SNCB investeren in haar stations om de toegankelijkheid, het comfort en de intermodale aansluitingen te verbeteren. Daardoor krijgen onder meer Lokeren, Ninove, Oudenaarde, Sint-Niklaas, Zottegem, Brugge, Knokke, Oostende en Waregem extra fietsenstallingen.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
