BMW heeft de productie van de iX3 in zijn fabriek in Debrecen deze maand opgevoerd van twee naar drie ploegen, waardoor er in feite 24 uur per dag wordt geproduceerd.<\/p>\n

De reden hiervoor is de grote vraag: BMW heeft al laten weten dat er alleen al in Europa 100.000 bestellingen voor de iX3 zijn geplaatst, en BMW Noord-Amerika versnelt de marktintroductie van de elektrische SUV iX3 sneller dan verwacht vanwege de grote vraag van klanten.<\/p>\n

De snelste productieopschaling ooit<\/h4>\n

BMW benadrukt dat zijn Hongaarse fabriek in ongeveer acht maanden tijd met succes de overstap heeft gemaakt van serieproductie naar een drieploegendienst. Dit is volgens het bedrijf \u201cde snelste opschaling van de productie die een nieuwe fabriek van de BMW Group ooit heeft meegemaakt\u201d.<\/p>\n

Concreet vierde BMW in oktober 2025 de start van de productie in Debrecen, waar kort daarna de volledige serieproductie van start ging. In maart had BMW al aangekondigd dat het vanwege de grote vraag zou uitbreiden naar twee ploegen. In september van dit jaar volgde de volgende stap: de uitbreiding naar drie ploegen.<\/p>\n

Alle iX3-uitvoeringen worden momenteel uitsluitend in Debrecen geproduceerd. Vanaf 2027 wordt er echter gewerkt aan een parallelle productie in Mexico, terwijl er in China ook een lokaal geproduceerde versie van de iX3 met lange wielbasis op de markt zal komen.<\/p>\n

De snelle uitbreiding naar drie ploegen wordt gerechtvaardigd door het succes van het model. Nog maar een paar weken geleden rolde de 50.000ste iX3 van de productielijn in Debrecen. In het jaar na de wereldpremi\u00e8re van de nieuwe BMW iX3, 100.000 klanten in heel Europa<\/a> heb het model al besteld.<\/p>\n

Hans-Peter Kemser, president en CEO van de BMW Group-fabriek in Debrecen, legde uit: \u201cEen dergelijke opschaling is alleen mogelijk als het personeelsbestand gelijke tred houdt met het productievolume. Het werven en opleiden van zoveel nieuwe medewerkers in zo\u2019n korte tijd is het resultaat van buitengewoon teamwerk.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dDe inzet van onze medewerkers, hun kennisuitwisseling en hun sterke teamgeest geven vorm aan de bedrijfscultuur van de BMW Group-fabriek in Debrecen en maken dergelijke resultaten mogelijk\u201d, voegde hij eraan toe. Momenteel werken er ongeveer 5.000 medewerkers bij BMW in Debrecen.<\/p>\n

Tweede product komt naar Debrecen<\/h4>\n

Ondertussen heeft BMW aangekondigd dat er in de komende maanden een tweede productlancering in Debrecen op het programma staat: \u201cDit najaar gaat op deze locatie de productie van een tweede, volledig nieuw model uit de Neue Klasse van start.\u201d De fabrikant heeft nog geen verdere details bekendgemaakt. Het aangekondigde model zal waarschijnlijk de elektrische SUV-coup\u00e9 zijn, intern bekend als NA7 en waarschijnlijk op de markt gebracht als de iX4.<\/p>\n

Al in maart 2023 liet BMW weten dat het, na de succesvolle lancering van het platform, van plan was om binnen 24 maanden zes modellen op basis van de Neue Klasse op de markt te brengen. Het Duitse vakblad Automobilwoche bevestigde deze plannen begin dit jaar.<\/p>\n

Twee van deze zes modellen worden momenteel geproduceerd: naast de iX3 uit Debrecen produceert BMW de i3 al in zijn hoofdvestiging in M\u00fcnchen. De serieproductie van de i3 is in augustus van start gegaan.<\/p>\n

Versnelling in Noord-Amerika<\/h4>\n

BMW Noord-Amerika versnelt de marktintroductie van de elektrische SUV iX3 sneller dan verwacht vanwege de grote vraag van klanten. Naar verluidt zijn de leveringen eerder dan gepland van start gegaan. In de VS is de BMW iX3 50 xDrive te bestellen vanaf $61.500 (\u20ac 53.500).<\/p>\n

Voor het model dat bestemd is voor de Amerikaanse markt geeft BMW een actieradius van 383 tot 434 mijl en een vermogen van 463 hp op voor zijn hoogwaardige elektrische SUV. BMW North America geeft de accucapaciteit op als 112,2 kWh, met een laadvermogen van maximaal 15 kW bij wisselstroom en maximaal 400 kW bij gelijkstroom.<\/p>\n

De iX3 50 xDrive in Noord-Amerika beschikt ook over bidirectioneel opladen, namelijk V2L (2,4 kW), V2H (3,6 kW) en V2V (7,7 kW), zodat de accu van de auto andere apparatuur, een ander voertuig of een woning van stroom kan voorzien.<\/p>\n

Deze functionaliteit moet op termijn zorgen voor stabilisatie van het elektriciteitsnet door tijdens piekuren energie terug te leveren aan het net en energie op te nemen wanneer de productie van hernieuwbare energie hoog is.<\/p>\n
