The network, which now comprises just under 40 km of track spread across 4 lines with some 60 stations, carries more than 150 million passengers a year, making it by far the most popular mode of transportation in Brussels.<\/p><p>Current CEO Brieuc de Mee\u00fbs, who has headed the MIVB\/STIB since 2012, has also announced that he will retire at the end of this year. But that will not hinder the transport company's ambitions.
