Renault heeft aangekondigd dat het tegen 2030 600 miljoen zal investeren in twee van zijn Spaanse fabrieken. Hierdoor kan het merk nieuwe modellen produceren en 6.000 banen in de regio veiligstellen.<\/p>\n

Het doel is om de fabrieken van de groep in Valladolid en Palencia klaar te maken voor de productie van vijf nieuwe voertuigen<\/a>, waaronder twee elektrische auto's. De investering omvat ook een nieuwe assemblagelijn voor accu's in Valladolid.<\/p>\n

De twee elektrische auto\u2019s die in productie zullen gaan, zijn modellen uit het middensegment. Ze zullen worden gebaseerd op het RGEV Medium 2.0 EV-platform van Renault, dat speciaal is ontworpen voor elektrische auto\u2019s. De productie van elektrische auto's\u00a0<\/a>Dit is een primeur in de 75-jarige geschiedenis van de productie van Renault in Spanje.<\/p>\n

Langdurige betrokkenheid<\/b><\/h4>\n

Met deze aankondiging bevestigt Renault zijn langetermijnbetrokkenheid bij Spanje en zorgt het tegelijkertijd voor 6.000 directe banen. De investering volgt op de ondertekening van de collectieve arbeidsovereenkomst voor de periode 2026-2028. Renault zal de investering van 600 miljoen financieren, maar ook de Spaanse regionale en nationale overheden zullen hieraan bijdragen.<\/p>\n

Het Franse concern is sterk vertegenwoordigd in Spanje, met productielocaties in Valladolid, Palencia en Sevilla. Zijn betrokkenheid bij de autoproductie begon in het begin van de jaren vijftig. Het begon met de productie van de Renault 4CV in de FASA-fabriek (Fabricaci\u00f3n de Autom\u00f3viles Sociedad An\u00f3nima) in Valladolid, die later een dochteronderneming van Renault werd.<\/p>\n

Renault noemt het concurrentievermogen van Spanje als een van de redenen voor het nieuwe investeringsplan. Het land is de op drie na grootste economie van Europa, maar de op \u00e9\u00e9n na grootste wat betreft de productie van voertuigen. Een gewaagde uitspraak<\/b><\/h4>\n

Een investering van 600 miljoen euro is een gedurfd gebaar in een tijd waarin Europese autofabrieken over het algemeen op slechts 50% van hun capaciteit draaien. Onlangs zijn er fabrieken gesloten, zoals Audi Brussel. Andere staan op het punt te worden omgebouwd, zoals de VW-fabriek in Osnabr\u00fcck, die bestemd is om een productiefaciliteit te worden voor een Isra\u00eblisch wapenbedrijf.<\/p>\n

Andere autofabrikanten hebben overeenkomsten gesloten met Chinese merken om hun auto\u2019s in Europa te produceren, om zo EU-invoerrechten te vermijden. Dat geldt bijvoorbeeld voor de Ford-fabriek in Valencia, waar de komende jaren vier nieuwe modellen aan het assortiment worden toegevoegd, waaronder enkele van Geely.
