Stellantis legt de productie in zijn Franse fabrieken in Sochaux, Rennes en Mulhouse voor ten minste een week stil. In twee gevallen is dit te wijten aan een tekort aan accu\u2019s voor elektrische auto\u2019s, aangezien leverancier ACC moeite heeft om aan de vraag naar zijn op nikkel gebaseerde accu\u2019s met een groot bereik te voldoen.<\/p>\n

Volgens Reuters leggen de fabrieken in Sochaux en Rennes de productie tijdelijk stil vanwege een tekort aan ACC-accu\u2019s. Het persbureau baseert zich op een offici\u00eble verklaring van het bedrijf. De onderbreking houdt echter slechts indirect verband met het tekort aan grote accu\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Stellantis wil vooral voorkomen dat er te veel andere voertuigen worden geproduceerd om \u201cte voorkomen dat er een voorraad voertuigen ontstaat die niet aansluit bij de vraag van de klanten\u201d, zoals het bedrijf uitlegt. Tegelijkertijd is de vraag naar elektrische modellen met een groot bereik bijzonder groot, en hebben klanten momenteel te maken met zeer lange wachttijden.<\/p>\n

Een pauze van een week of langer<\/h4>\n

De fabriek in Sochaux in Oost-Frankrijk, waar modellen als de Peugeot 3008 en de Peugeot 5008 worden geproduceerd, zal de productie specifiek van 23 tot en met 30 oktober stilleggen. De fabriek in Rennes zal ondertussen van 22 tot en met 30 oktober gesloten zijn. Hier produceert Citro\u00ebn onder andere de C5 Aircross.<\/p>\n

De eerder aangekondigde productiestop in Mulhouse van 15 tot en met 30 oktober zou te wijten zijn aan andere redenen die niets te maken hebben met het tekort aan accu\u2019s.<\/p>\n

De leveringen van ACC vormen nog steeds een belangrijk knelpunt voor de productie van Stellantis. ACC is een joint venture tussen Stellantis, Mercedes en TotalEnergies, die oorspronkelijk van plan was drie fabrieken te bouwen in Frankrijk, Duitsland en Itali\u00eb, maar zich nu richt op de opstartfase van haar enige cel-fabriek in Douvrin, Frankrijk. De andere twee grote projecten zijn geschrapt.<\/p>\n

Zorgen bij de ACC<\/h4>\n

Zoals Bloomberg in februari meldde, onder verwijzing naar interne bronnen, verliepen de activiteiten in Douvrin evenmin vlekkeloos. Naar verluidt kon ACC aan het begin van het jaar slechts ongeveer 1.000 auto\u2019s per maand uitrusten met accu\u2019s met een groot bereik, wat ver onder de oorspronkelijke doelstelling lag.<\/p>\n

Naar verluidt zou de joint venture vervolgens een team van deskundigen uit China hebben ingeschakeld om de productie op te voeren en de hoge defectpercentages terug te dringen. Stellantis, als belangrijkste afnemer van ACC, is de partij die het meest te lijden heeft onder de trage opschaling.<\/p>\n

In februari erkende ACC ook dat er fundamentele problemen waren: \u201cDe opstart verloopt moeizaam, maar we leren elke dag bij en doen ons uiterste best om onze klanten zo goed mogelijk van dienst te zijn,\u201d zei ACC-secretaris-generaal Matthieu Hubert destijds tegen Bloomberg.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Stellantis gebruikt de batterijcellen uit de ACC-fabriek in Douvrin onder andere in elektrische voertuigen die zijn gebaseerd op het STLA Medium-platform, waaronder de Peugeot E-3008 en E-5008, evenals de Opel Grandland Electric en de DS N\u00b08. Voor deze voertuigen die zijn uitgerust met ACC-cellen meldde Bloomberg in februari al leveringsvertragingen van maximaal acht maanden.<\/p>\n

Zeer lange wachttijden<\/h4>\n

In april bleek uit een artikel in het Duitse vakblad Automobilwoche dat met name particuliere klanten te maken hebben met zeer lange wachttijden voor hun modellen met een groot actieradius. Het artikel ging specifiek in op de betreffende uitvoeringen van de Opel Grandland, de Peugeot e-3008 en de e-5008.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnze leveringen zijn uitgesteld tot het eerste of tweede kwartaal van 2027\u201d, vertelde een Stellantis-dealer destijds aan het vakblad. Andere dealers zouden naar verluidt geen bindende leveringsdata meer hebben ontvangen.<\/p>\n

De situatie is vooral lastig voor de merken van Stellantis: het betreft immers alleen klanten die bereid zijn bijna 5.000 euro meer te betalen voor een grotere accu met een capaciteit van 97 kWh in plaats van 73 kWh en de bijbehorende toename in actieradius, in vergelijking met hetzelfde model met een kleinere accu.<\/p>\n

Ondertussen zou ACC de defectpercentages hebben teruggedrongen en de productie verder hebben gestabiliseerd. Niettemin verklaarde een woordvoerder van Stellantis tegenover Reuters in het kader van de aangekondigde fabrieksonderbrekingen: \u201cHelaas ontvangen we nog steeds niet genoeg accu\u2019s, ondanks de grote vooruitgang in de productie bij ACC.\u201d<\/p>\n

De vraag naar modellen met een groot bereik, met name onder wagenparkklanten, blijft groot en overtreft nog steeds het huidige aanbod. Blijkbaar krijgen deze wagenparkklanten voorrang, waardoor de wachttijden voor particuliere klanten nog langer worden.<\/p>\n
