A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportenvironment.org\/articles\/what-is-the-situation?utm_source=T%26E+News&amp;utm_campaign=4cafff3a1b-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2026_09_29_01_30&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_1dbb7e56f6-4cafff3a1b-380005527&amp;mc_cid=4cafff3a1b&amp;mc_eid=533f79c9f2\">nieuwe analyse van Transport &amp; Environment (T&amp;E)<\/a>) stelt dat het verschil in restwaarde tussen volledig elektrische auto\u2019s en auto\u2019s met een verbrandingsmotor ongeveer 80% kleiner zou kunnen zijn als rekening wordt gehouden met belastingen, subsidies, inflatie en dalende prijzen voor nieuwe elektrische auto\u2019s.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Op basis van transactiegegevens voor tweedehandsauto\u2019s uit 2025 van automarktspecialist Autovista lijkt het op het eerste gezicht alsof elektrische auto\u2019s in Duitsland, Frankrijk, Itali\u00eb en Spanje aanzienlijk sneller in waarde dalen dan auto\u2019s met een verbrandingsmotor. Het verschil in restwaarde bedraagt 12,9 procentpunten.<\/p>\n<p>T&amp;E stelt echter dat dit totale cijfer geen eerlijke vergelijking is. Aankoopsubsidies hebben de werkelijke aanschafkosten van veel elektrische auto\u2019s verlaagd, terwijl registratie- en aanschafbelastingen de effectieve prijs van auto\u2019s met verbrandingsmotor hebben verhoogd. Als we corrigeren voor deze factoren, zorgen inflatie en verschillen in de samenstelling van het wagenpark ervoor dat het ogenschijnlijke verschil met 5,2 procentpunten afneemt, waardoor het terugloopt tot 7,7 punten.<\/p>\n<h4>Dalende prijzen voor nieuwe elektrische auto\u2019s<\/h4>\n<p>De grootste en meest omstreden correctie betreft de dalende prijzen van nieuwe auto\u2019s. Kopers van een drie jaar oude elektrische auto vergelijken deze tegenwoordig niet alleen met de prijs die hij nieuw kostte, maar ook met de huidige prijs van een vergelijkbare nieuwe elektrische auto.<\/p>\n<p>Naarmate nieuwe elektrische auto\u2019s goedkoper zijn geworden, zijn de prijzen van oudere EV\u2019s dienovereenkomstig naar beneden bijgesteld. T&amp;E schat dat, wanneer met dit effect rekening wordt gehouden, er nog eens 5,1 procentpunten verdwijnen, waardoor er een restwaardekloof van slechts 2,6 punten overblijft ten opzichte van auto\u2019s met een verbrandingsmotor.<\/p>\n<p>Dat betekent niet dat leasemaatschappijen die enkele jaren geleden een elektrische auto hebben aangeschaft, slechts 2,6 procentpunten meer waardeverlies hebben geleden. Een snelle daling van de prijzen van nieuwe elektrische auto\u2019s leidt tot een daadwerkelijk verlies voor de oorspronkelijke eigenaar. Het argument van T&amp;E is veeleer dat dit niet automatisch moet worden ge\u00efnterpreteerd als bewijs van een structureel zwakke vraag naar tweedehands elektrische auto\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>De organisatie verwacht dat dit effect zal afnemen naarmate de prijzen van nieuwe elektrische auto\u2019s zich stabiliseren en geleidelijk in lijn komen met die van auto\u2019s met verbrandingsmotor.<\/p>\n<h4>De markt begint zich te stabiliseren<\/h4>\n<p>Er zijn ook aanwijzingen dat de Europese markt voor tweedehands elektrische auto\u2019s volwassen wordt. Volgens T&amp;E was de volatiliteit van de restwaarde van elektrische auto\u2019s in beide helften van 2025 gedaald tot niveaus die vergelijkbaar waren met die van auto\u2019s met verbrandingsmotor. De daling van de restwaarden van batterij-elektrische voertuigen (BEV's) vertraagde van 2,3 procentpunten in de tweede helft van 2024 tot slechts 0,7 procentpunten in de tweede helft van 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Duitsland laat nog een teken van groeiende vraag zien: het aantal registraties van tweedehands batterij-elektrische auto\u2019s is in de eerste zeven maanden van 2026 met 64% gestegen ten opzichte van dezelfde periode vorig jaar.<\/p>\n<p>Transparantie over de accu zou ook een positieve bijdrage kunnen leveren. Remarketingbedrijf BCA stelde vast dat elektrische auto\u2019s met een gecertificeerd rapport over de accustatus een ongeveer 1,4% hogere inruilwaarde hadden en gemiddeld 2,7 dagen sneller werden verkocht. Leasingbedrijf Arval heeft ondertussen in Europa en het Verenigd Koninkrijk meer dan 30.000 certificaten over de accustatus afgegeven.<\/p>\n<h4>Gevolgen voor leasing<\/h4>\n<p>De bevindingen zijn met name relevant voor leasemaatschappijen, omdat de verwachte restwaarde een van de belangrijkste factoren is die bepalend zijn voor de maandelijkse leaseprijs. T&amp;E stelt dat te conservatieve afschrijvingsaannames het risico met zich meebrengen dat het leasen van elektrische auto\u2019s onnodig duur wordt.<\/p>\n<p>De organisatie pleit daarom voor langere leaseperiodes, gestandaardiseerde certificaten voor de batterijconditie en krachtigere regelingen voor goedgekeurde tweedehandsvoertuigen. De milieu-ngo brengt haar bevindingen ook in verband met de voorgestelde EU-verordening inzake schone bedrijfsvoertuigen, die volgens haar zou kunnen zorgen voor een meer voorspelbare vraag naar elektrische bedrijfsvoertuigen.<\/p>\n<p>Dat beleidsstandpunt moet worden onderscheiden van de onderliggende marktgegevens. T&amp;E zet zich actief in voor een snellere elektrificatie, terwijl de transactiecijfers die in het onderzoek zijn gebruikt, afkomstig zijn van Autovista.<\/p>\n<p>Er is nog een belangrijke beperking: Belgi\u00eb en Nederland zijn niet meegenomen. De analyse heeft alleen betrekking op Duitsland, Frankrijk, Itali\u00eb en Spanje, wat betekent dat het cijfer van 2,6 procentpunten niet zomaar kan worden toegepast op de Benelux-leasingmarkt.<\/p>\n<p>Toch werpt het onderzoek een belangrijke vraag op voor een markt met een groot aandeel wagenparken, zoals Belgi\u00eb: zijn de leaseprijzen voor elektrische voertuigen nog steeds deels gebaseerd op afschrijvingsveronderstellingen die zijn vastgesteld tijdens de volatiele beginjaren van de elektrificatie, terwijl de tweedehandsmarkt zelf al begint te normaliseren?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Electric cars may retain considerably more of their value than conventional leasing calculations suggest.
