Vanaf 13 december rijden er extra vroege en late treinen van en naar Hasselt in de provincie Limburg. Ook in de provincie Antwerpen wordt het aanbod uitgebreid. Dit blijkt uit de presentatie van de nieuwe dienstregeling die de Belgische spoorwegmaatschappij invoert.<\/p>\n

De grote lijnen van deze nieuwe treindienst zijn al enige tijd bekend, maar nu zijn de laatste Belgische provincies aan de beurt.<\/p>\n

Voor vroege vogels<\/h4>\n

Op weekdagen rijden er extra vroege en late treinen van en naar Hasselt. \u2019s Ochtends vertrekt de eerste trein vanuit Hasselt in beide richtingen minstens een uur eerder: richting Genk (05.02 uur) en richting Tongeren (05.53 uur).<\/p>\n

Vanuit die twee steden vertrekt de laatste trein naar Hasselt ook een uur later. Vanuit Genk vertrekt hij nu om 22.06 uur en vanuit Tongeren om 22.42 uur.<\/p>\n

In de provincie Antwerpen zullen op werkdagen tijdens de ochtend- en avondspits twee S-treinen per uur in beide richtingen rijden tussen Mol en Antwerpen.<\/p>\n

Ook op weekdagen vertrekt er een extra vroege S-trein vanaf het Centraal Station van Antwerpen naar Puurs. Die trein vertrekt al om 05.13 uur, een uur eerder dan nu het geval is.<\/p>\n

3% meer treinen<\/h4>\n

Verdere aanpassingen aan de Vervoersplan 2026-2029<\/a> staan gepland voor eind 2027 \u2013 waaronder een eerdere verbinding vanaf het station Noorderkempen in Antwerpen naar Mechelen en Brussel Luchthaven<\/a> \u2013 en eind 2028 \u2013 met extra treinen tussen Hasselt en Genk en tussen Hasselt en Leuven.<\/p>\n

In het hele land zullen er wekelijks bijna 600 extra treinen worden ingezet en zal de dienstregeling op 178 stations worden verbeterd. Daardoor zal het aantal treinen in 2029 naar verwachting 3% hoger liggen dan in 2026.<\/p>\n

Ook verbeteringen aan het station<\/h4>\n

De NMBS\/SNCB blijft ook investeren in verbeteringen aan stations. Zo zal in Sint-Truiden de bouw van een nieuwe onderdoorgang van start gaan, met hellingen die naar elk perron leiden.<\/p>\n

Net als in Hasselt zal het station volledig toegankelijk zijn voor reizigers met beperkte mobiliteit. Tegelijkertijd worden de fietsenstallingen in Hasselt, Sint-Truiden en Genk uitgebreid.<\/p>\n

In de provincie Antwerpen staan onder meer de volgende projecten op het programma: het verbeteren van de toegankelijkheid voor reizigers met beperkte mobiliteit op 7 stations en het renoveren en\/of uitbreiden van fietsenstallingen op 15 stations.<\/p>\n

Zo zullen er op het station van Mol werkzaamheden van start gaan om de onderdoorgang te verlengen. En in Bornem wordt het perron volgend jaar gerenoveerd en verhoogd. Daarnaast investeert de NMBS onder meer in extra fietsenstallingen in Turnhout, Essen en Puurs.<\/p>\n
