Volgens gegevens van de sectorfederatie Febiac en de federale overheidsdienst Mobiliteit & Vervoer lagen de registraties van nieuwe auto\u2019s in Belgi\u00eb en Luxemburg 1,9% hoger dan in september vorig jaar. Het gecumuleerde resultaat voor de eerste drie kwartalen van 2026 bedraagt -1% ten opzichte van 2025.<\/p>\n

Wat nog belangrijker is: voor het eerst in de Belux is meer dan de helft van de nieuw geregistreerde auto\u2019s volledig elektrisch. In augustus bedroeg het aandeel van BEV\u2019s al 46,2%; in september steeg dit tot 50,9%. Aan het einde van het derde kwartaal vertegenwoordigden BEV's bijna twee vijfde (39,11 TP3T) van de Belgische markt voor nieuwe auto's, een stijging ten opzichte van 34,71 TP3T in 2025.<\/p>\n

Het meest opvallend is dat ook particuliere kopers steeds vaker voor elektrische auto\u2019s kiezen: meer dan een vijfde (20,2%) van de BEV\u2019s is door particuliere kopers geregistreerd. Dit betekent dat de elektrificatie van de Belgische automarkt nog steeds voornamelijk wordt aangedreven door de zakelijke markt, maar dat de belangstelling voor elektrische auto\u2019s onder particuliere kopers sterk is toegenomen.<\/p>\n

Andere categorie\u00ebn<\/h4>\n

Gemotoriseerde tweewielers kenden een zeer goede maand september, met 9% meer registraties en een stijging van 10,3% ten opzichte van de eerste negen maanden van 2025.<\/p>\n

In september werden er 3,8% minder lichte bedrijfsvoertuigen (LCV's) verkocht dan vorig jaar, wat betekent dat de LCV-markt achterblijft: -6,1% over de eerste negen maanden.<\/p>\n

Wat zwaardere voertuigen betreft, is de verkoop van vrachtwagens onder de 16 ton in september vrijwel gestabiliseerd ten opzichte van vorig jaar, maar blijft deze over de volledige negen maanden van 2026 nog steeds ver achter (-19,9%). Zwaardere vrachtwagens (16 ton en meer) waren in september 2026 populairder dan vorig jaar (+8,1%), waardoor het totale verkoopverlies over de negen maanden afnam tot -3,7%.<\/p>\n

Per merk<\/h4>\n

Per merk blijft BMW ruim aan kop, met een omzetstijging van 24,4% in september ten opzichte van vorig jaar. Een verrassing is de tweede plaats van Mercedes, ondanks een omzetdaling van 2,4%. Een nog grotere verrassing is de derde plaats van Tesla (!), met een stijging van de verkoopcijfers in september van 129%. De grote verliezer is Volkswagen, dat met een daling van de verkoopcijfers van 27,4% naar de vierde plaats is gezakt.<\/p>\n

Renault staat op de vijfde plaats (+4,81 TP3T in omzet), gevolgd door Peugeot (+131 TP3T), \u0160koda (7e, -25,51 TP3T) en Kia (8e, +21,11 TP3T). Dacia staat op de 9e plaats (-15,81 TP3T in omzet), terwijl Audi naar de 10e plaats is gezakt nadat de omzet met een derde daalde (-33,31 TP3T).<\/p>\n

Voor de grootste winnaars (afgezien van Tesla) van deze maand moeten we kijken naar de Chinese merken. BYD (13e) zag zijn verkoop met 114% stijgen; Leapmotor (22e) verkocht in september 304,3% meer; Jaecoo (23e) steeg met 308%. Nieuwkomer Geely klom meteen naar de 25e plaats; Omoda (30e) boekte een omzetstijging van 191,71 TP3T, terwijl Xpeng (31e) een omzetstijging van 121,71 TP3T noteerde. Op de 24e plaats noteerde Zeekr een omzetstijging van 67,61 TP3T, en Smart (38e) noteerde eveneens een omzetstijging van 67,61 TP3T.<\/p>\n

Tot de niet-Chinese winnaars behoorden Mini (16e, +12%), Mazda (19e, =198,51 TP3T), Suzuki (20e, +39,71 TP3T), Fiat (24e, +11,11 TP3T) en Cupra (26e, +24,41 TP3T).<\/p>\n

De grootste dalers, afgezien van de D\u2019Ieteren-merken in de top tien, zijn Volvo (12e, -23,11 TP3T), Hyundai (15e, -24,41 TP3T), Ford (17e, -25,61 TP3T), Opel (18e, -29,91 TP3T), Nissan (27e, -58,51 TP3T), Seat (33e, -12,31 TP3T), Land Rover (36e, -59,81 TP3T), Lexus (37e, -20,41 TP3T) en KG Mobility (40e, -42,31 TP3T).<\/p>\n

Twee Chinese merken konden zich niet aansluiten bij de verkoopeuforie: MG (21e) noteerde een omzetdaling van 24,41 TP3T, en ook Polestar (29e) verkocht in september minder dan vorig jaar (-8,61 TP3T).<\/p>\n

Gecumuleerd<\/h4>\n

Over de volledige drie kwartalen gezien gaat BMW aan kop met een marktaandeel van 11%, gevolgd door Volkswagen, waarvan het aandeel daalde van 9,6% naar 8,3%. Op de derde plaats staat Mercedes (marktaandeel van 7,1%), gevolgd door Peugeot (6,5%), Audi (6%) en Renault (5,9%).<\/p>\n

Dacia (4,8%) strijdt met \u0160koda (4,7%) om de zevende plaats; op de negende plaats staat Kia (3,9%) en op de tiende plaats Toyota (3,8%). Volvo (3,5%) staat op de elfde plaats, gevolgd door Tesla, dat zijn marktaandeel opnieuw heeft vergroot van 2,3% naar 3,3%.<\/p>\n

Het eerste Chinese merk, BYD, staat nu op de 17e plaats (marktaandeel van 2,11 TP3T, een stijging ten opzichte van 1,01 TP3T) en levert een nek-aan-nekrace met MG, dat slechts 52 auto\u2019s minder verkocht en eveneens een aandeel van 2,11 TP3T heeft. Mini (19e) groeide naar een marktaandeel van 21 TP3T, terwijl Fiat naar de 20e plaats klom en zijn aandeel zag stijgen van 0,81 TP3T naar 1,21 TP3T.<\/p>\n

Logischerwijs worden de grootste stijgingen (in procenten) van het marktaandeel genoteerd door de Chinese merken, maar we hebben het hier nog steeds over relatief lage absolute cijfers. Andere grote verliezers op het gebied van marktaandeel zijn Ford, Nissan, Porsche, Seat, Land Rover en Lexus.<\/p>\n
