MAN en de openbaarvervoersmaatschappij van M\u00fcnchen, de M\u00fcnchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG), zijn begonnen met praktijktests met een zelfrijdende elektrische bus. Er zijn weliswaar kleinere commerci\u00eble projecten, zoals een autonome shuttlebus van De Lijn<\/a>, dit is een van de eerste elektrische bussen op ware grootte die autonoom op een reguliere stadsroute rijden. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

De autonome busdienst maakt deel uit van het MINGA-onderzoeksproject. Het project ging in 2023 van start om verschillende initiatieven op het gebied van autonoom rijden in M\u00fcnchen te onderzoeken; er rijdt in de stad al een autonome shuttle op aanvraag.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Na tests op afgesloten wegen neemt de 12 meter lange bus nu deel aan het project. De Duitse T\u00dcV en de Duitse KBA (de federale autoriteit voor motorvoertuigen) hebben toestemming verleend om met het voertuig op de openbare weg te rijden. De gekozen route is lijn 178 in M\u00fcnchen tussen Petuelring en Freimanner H\u00f6lzl.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Voorlopig rijdt de bus zonder passagiers, maar vanaf november kunnen vooraf geregistreerde forenzen mee. Het project wordt in fasen gelanceerd omdat het autonoom rijden met een grote bus in drukke stadsstraten een kaart van de route met hoge resolutie en uiterste precisie vereist, aldus Marc Raudszus, technisch co\u00f6rdinator en testchauffeur bij MAN Truck & Bus.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Elektrische MAN-bus<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

Het voertuig in kwestie is een MAN Lion\u2019s City 12 E, een 12 meter lange elektrische stadsbus. MAN heeft deze bus samen met Adastec omgebouwd tot een zelfrijdende bus. Dat bedrijf is gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling van softwareoplossingen voor geautomatiseerd rijden op SAE-niveau 4 voor bussen en bedrijfsvoertuigen.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

De geautomatiseerde MAN Lion\u2019s City 12 E stuurt, accelereert, remt en geeft richting aan zonder menselijke tussenkomst. Er is echter nog steeds een getrainde testchauffeur aanwezig die het stuur kan overnemen indien nodig. Het project heeft tot doel gegevens te verzamelen om de voorwaarden te scheppen voor een steeds autonomere exploitatie van de busdienst. MAN streeft ernaar de technologie in 2030 in serieproductie te brengen. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

De zelfrijdende bus is uitgerust met vijf LiDAR-sensoren, zes radars, acht camera\u2019s en satellietgebaseerde positiebepaling. Deze verzamelen weg- en verkeersinformatie, zoals verkeerslichten, zebrapaden, rijstrookindelingen en andere kenmerken, die worden ge\u00efntegreerd in een digitale kaart van de route met hoge resolutie. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lopende projecten<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

Adastec beschikt al over een aanzienlijke hoeveelheid gegevens uit projecten waaraan het heeft meegewerkt met de Turkse busfabrikant Karsan, een van de toonaangevende bedrijven op dit gebied.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Een kleinere, 8 meter lange autonome Karsan e-ATAK-bus \u2013 volgens het bedrijf de eerste geautomatiseerde bus van niveau vier \u2013 rijdt al in Stavanger, waarna er tests zullen volgen in Parijs en M\u00fcnchen. In Stavanger rijdt de bus zelfs door een 800 meter lange tunnel.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Een ander indrukwekkend project was een CAVForth-dienst in Schotland. Vijf Alexander Dennis Enviro200AV-bussen reden van mei 2023 tot februari 2025 autonoom tussen Fife en Edinburgh. Ze vervoerden betalende passagiers over een route van 22 km met snelheden tot 80 km\/u.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Commerci\u00eble implementatie<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Hoewel autonome stadsbussen technologisch indrukwekkend zijn en vanwege hun omvang een uitdaging kunnen vormen, zijn ze in de praktijk misschien wel \u2018gemakkelijker\u2019 te exploiteren dan zelfrijdende auto\u2019s. Ze rijden elke keer dezelfde route, met vaste haltes. Ze kunnen ook op afstand worden gecontroleerd, wat wellicht eenvoudiger is dan steeds weer chauffeurs te moeten vinden om een groot buspark te besturen. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Er bestaat al wetgeving op dit gebied: EU-verordening 2022\/1426 voorziet in typegoedkeuring voor volledig geautomatiseerde voertuigen die in vooraf vastgestelde gebieden of op vooraf vastgestelde routes tussen knooppunten rijden. Dit soort projecten zal ertoe bijdragen dat reguliere exploitatie mogelijk wordt.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
