Deze strategie sluit aan bij de aanpak waarmee Chinese autofabrikanten een concurrentievoordeel hebben weten te behalen. De strategie zal een \u2018belangrijke hefboom\u2019 zijn voor het verbeteren van de winstcijfers van BMW, zo liet het bedrijf vorige week aan beleggers weten tijdens zijn Capital Markets Day.<\/p>\n<p>Generieke onderdelen die als \u2018beste aanbod in de branche\u2019 worden aangemerkt, zullen tegen 2032 het grootste deel uitmaken van het jaarlijkse inkoopbudget van BMW van 80 miljard euro, waarmee ze op maat gemaakte onderdelen zullen overtreffen, waarvan het aandeel met meer dan de helft zal afnemen, aldus BMW. Het bedrijf heeft geen cijfers bekendgemaakt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDe inkoopafdeling bij de BMW Group evolueert van een traditionele inkoopfunctie naar een architect van waardecreatie,\u201d benadrukte BMW. BMW-CEO Milan Nedeljkovic schetste deze verschuiving voor het eerst in juli en zei dat leveranciers nu meer gestandaardiseerde onderdelen aanbieden die voldoen aan de eisen van de autofabrikant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe moeten ons realiseren dat het aanbod van leveranciers in de loop der tijd is toegenomen,\u201d zei Nedeljkovic. \u201cEr zijn overtuigende industri\u00eble normen op de markt, en het zou verkeerd zijn om daar geen gebruik van te maken.\u201d Hij voegde eraan toe dat BMW nooit concessies zou doen op het gebied van kwaliteit, prestaties of merkspecifieke kenmerken.<\/p>\n<h4>Financi\u00eble doelstellingen<\/h4>\n<p>De onderdelenstrategie draagt rechtstreeks bij aan de financi\u00eble doelstellingen van BMW. Het bedrijf heeft zich ten doel gesteld om de marges in zijn automobielsector tegen 2028 te verhogen tot 3 tot 5%, een stijging ten opzichte van de 2,3% uit de meest recente resultaten. <a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2026\/10\/05\/bmw-group-strengthen-resilience-enhance-competitiveness\/\">Na 2030 moet dit weer stijgen tot 8% of zelfs 10%.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hoewel BMW Chinese autofabrikanten niet rechtstreeks als voorbeeld noemde, willen veel internationale autofabrikanten het Chinese succes bij het verlagen van de kosten door een grotere standaardisatie van onderdelen navolgen.<\/p>\n<p>Het ontwikkelen van een geheel nieuwe koplamp kan bijvoorbeeld drie maanden extra tijd vergen voor een voertuigprogramma, in vergelijking met het gebruik van modulaire onderdelen die in de branche al op grote schaal beschikbaar zijn, zo bevestigde Jim Baumbick, CEO van Ford of Europe, onlangs tijdens het Automotive News Europe Congress, dat v\u00f3\u00f3r de zomer plaatsvond.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota, de grootste autofabrikant van Japan en de wereld, heeft ook herhaaldelijk opgeroepen tot meer uitwisseling van onderdelen binnen de Japanse auto-industrie en zelfs daarbuiten. \u201cHet delen van onderdelen, vari\u00ebrend van staalsoorten en kunststoffen tot kabelbomen, kan middelen vrijmaken voor nieuwe technologie\u00ebn en productiviteitsverbeteringen\u201d, benadrukte Koji Sato, voormalig CEO van Toyota, in zijn hoedanigheid als voorzitter van de Japanse Vereniging van Autofabrikanten (JAMA).<\/p>\n<h4>De Chinese dreiging<\/h4>\n<p>Autofabrikanten staan onder toenemende druk om kosten te besparen, nu ze moeten concurreren met snel groeiende Chinese concurrenten. De Chinese auto-industrie profiteert van een verregaande standaardisatie, ondersteund door door de overheid opgestelde specificaties die verder gaan dan de traditionele voorschriften op het gebied van veiligheid, uitstoot en software.<\/p>\n<p>Dankzij deze aanpak hebben talrijke Chinese merken tegen relatief lage kosten schaalgrootte weten te bereiken. Dat is een van de redenen waarom Renault een omvangrijk onderzoekscentrum in Shanghai heeft opgezet, om te leren hoe zij zowel de ontwikkeling als de productie aanpakken.<\/p>\n<h4>De rol van AI<\/h4>\n<p>Als onderdeel van de herstructurering is BMW ook van plan de samenwerking met belangrijke technologiepartners te intensiveren. Het bedrijf stelt dat de bestaande samenwerkingsverbanden al hebben geleid tot lagere leverancierskosten, een betere leveringszekerheid en een groter concurrentievermogen. Een voorbeeld hiervan is de samenwerking van de autofabrikant met Qualcomm op het gebied van Level 2+ rijhulpsystemen.<\/p>\n<p>Volgend jaar zal de BMW Group, dankzij de ontwikkelingssamenwerking met Qualcomm, als een van de eerste fabrikanten in Duitsland navigatiegestuurde rijhulpsystemen aanbieden \u2013 op snelwegen, secundaire wegen en in de stad \u2013 op basis van de nieuwe DCAS-verordening (een Europees wettelijk kader voor \u2018Driver Control Assistance Systems\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>Andere landen, waaronder de VS, zullen geleidelijk volgen. Alle klanten die met de nieuwe generatie voertuigen rijden, zullen de extra functies flexibel via een draadloze update kunnen activeren.<\/p>\n<p>BMW is ook van plan het gebruik van kunstmatige intelligentie binnen de inkoopafdeling uit te breiden. Het bedrijf verklaarde dat AI-gestuurde analyse van inkoopgegevens de snelheid en kwaliteit van de besluitvorming zal verbeteren, wat op lange termijn structurele kostenvoordelen zal opleveren.<\/p>\n<p>Wat de productie betreft, is kunstmatige intelligentie al een integraal onderdeel van het productiesysteem van de BMW Group en een kernelement van de BMW iFactory. \u201cDe BMW Group zal AI uitbreiden van afzonderlijke toepassingen naar de kernprocessen van de voertuigontwikkeling\u201d, legt de fabrikant uit.<\/p>\n<p>Een voorbeeld hiervan is de samenwerking tussen de BMW Group en AI-bedrijf Mistral op het gebied van botsingssimulaties. Door de technische datasets van de BMW Group te combineren met de trainingsmogelijkheden van Mistral AI, maakt deze samenwerking het mogelijk om gespecialiseerde AI-modellen te ontwikkelen die de kwaliteit, snelheid en effici\u00ebntie van de voertuigontwikkeling verbeteren.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOm tegelijkertijd de inspanningen op het gebied van ontwikkeling, inkoop en productie aanzienlijk te verminderen, zullen hoogwaardige \u2018Industry Best Offer\u2019-oplossingen \u2013 die een optimale combinatie van innovatie en schaalbaarheid bieden \u2013 in de toekomst ook op grotere schaal worden toegepast\u201d, benadrukt BMW. \u201cHierdoor kan de BMW Group haar expertise en capaciteit meer richten op de gebieden waarop haar eigen merken zich het sterkst onderscheiden van de concurrentie.\u201c.<\/p>\n<h4>Van softwaregestuurd naar AI-gestuurd<\/h4>\n<p>\u201cMet de eerste modellen van de Neue Klasse heeft BMW de basis gelegd voor de volgende generatie digitale voertuigen. De nieuwe zonegebaseerde elektrische en elektronische infrastructuur zal in alle voertuigsegmenten worden toegepast. Dit zal de complexiteit verminderen, schaalvoordelen opleveren en ervoor zorgen dat nieuwe functies sneller beschikbaar komen voor klanten,\u201d legt BMW uit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDe Neue Klasse laat nu al zien hoe intelligente software en kunstmatige intelligentie de klantervaring optimaliseren.
