Terwijl er in 2024 2.102 gevallen van agressie tegen NMBS\/\/SNCB-personeel werden geregistreerd, steeg dit aantal het jaar daarop met bijna een kwart tot 2.602 gevallen.<\/p>\n

De gevolgen voor het personeel van de Belgische spoorwegmaatschappij namen echter nog sneller toe: agressie tegen het personeel leidde vorig jaar tot 95.336 uur ziekteverzuim, meer dan het dubbele van het cijfer van het jaar daarvoor. Dat komt neer op 261 verloren werkuren per dag.<\/p>\n

Vanwege de sterke toename van agressie tegen het personeel gaan de roep om het gebruik van bodycams bij de spoorwegmaatschappij steeds luider. Naar verwachting zal de wetgeving hierover tegen het einde van dit jaar worden afgerond.<\/p>\n

Treinbegeleiders zijn de meest voorkomende slachtoffers<\/h4>\n

Van de 489 gevallen van arbeidsongeschiktheid \u2013 een stijging van bijna 57% \u2013 blijkt dat conducteurs vorig jaar het vaakst te maken hadden met agressie.<\/p>\n

De NMBS\/SNCB registreerde 1.484 gevallen waarbij zij betrokken waren. De beveiligingsdienst Securail volgde met 791 incidenten. Daarnaast waren er 213 gevallen waarbij mobiliteitsbegeleiders betrokken waren en 104 waarbij personeelsleden betrokken waren.<\/p>\n

Dit effect komt ook tot uiting in de cijfers over nazorg. In 2025 werden er 1.167 interventies uitgevoerd door interne psychosociale begeleiders.<\/p>\n

Via de externe partner Pulso vonden 224 eerste consulten en 193 begeleidingsprogramma\u2019s plaats. Agressie was meestal de reden om hulp te zoeken.<\/p>\n

Lichaamscamera\u2019s komen eraan<\/h4>\n

De NMBS\/SNCB is al lang voorstander van bodycams, omdat deze kunnen helpen situaties te de-escaleren tijdens interventies, maar het wettelijk kader voor het gebruik ervan is nog niet van kracht. Bezorgdheid over de privacy en kritiek van de Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (GBA) hebben de plannen lange tijd tegengehouden.<\/p>\n

Eind mei 2026 keurde de federale regering een voorlopig wetsontwerp goed betreffende hulpverleners die tijdens hun dienst met geweld te maken kunnen krijgen. Minister van Binnenlandse Zaken Bernard Quintin (MR) hoopt dat het parlement hierover nog voor het einde van dit jaar kan stemmen.<\/p>\n

\u201cOndertussen heeft de NMBS\/SNCB, samen met de andere openbaarvervoersbedrijven, een openbare aanbesteding uitgeschreven, en zijn we in gesprek met verschillende leveranciers, zodat we \u2013 zodra het wettelijk kader rond is \u2013 het gebruik van bodycams kunnen invoeren\u201d, aldus de woordvoerder van de NMBS\/SNCB.<\/p>\n

\u201cTegelijkertijd zullen de overleggen met de representatieve vakbonden van start gaan om de operationele en organisatorische aspecten voor te bereiden.\u201d<\/p>\n

De tourniquets zijn afgewezen<\/h4>\n

Ook de plaatsing van tourniquets wordt al enige tijd voorgesteld als maatregel om zwartrijden tegen te gaan en de veiligheid te verbeteren.<\/p>\n

De NMBS\/SNCB heeft onlangs een nieuw onderzoek naar de installatie afgerond en dit eerder deze maand aan de raad van bestuur voorgelegd. De spoorwegmaatschappij acht het echter nog steeds niet gepast om tourniquets te plaatsen op grote stations.<\/p>\n
