Renault heeft zijn elektrische E-Space Concept op de Autosalon van Parijs volledig onthuld en daarbij een futuristisch interieur met zes zitplaatsen getoond dat meer op een woonkamer lijkt dan op een conventionele auto.<\/p>\n

Hoewel de Franse fabrikant nog steeds geen plannen heeft om de MPV zelf te produceren, bevestigt hij dat een van zijn meest opvallende innovaties, het 1,13 meter brede OpenR Panorama-display, in de volgende generatie van de Scenic en de Rafale zal worden ge\u00efntegreerd.<\/p>\n

Als Newmobility.news meldde vorige week<\/a>, de E-Space blaast de filosofie van de originele E-Space uit 1984 nieuw leven in: het maximaliseren van de binnenruimte in plaats van de SUV-trend te volgen. De onthulling van vandaag geeft een veel duidelijker beeld van hoe Renault die filosofie in toekomstige auto\u2019s wil vertalen.<\/p>\n

Een dashboard dat zich uitstrekt van stijl tot stijl<\/h4>\n

De meest opvallende innovatie is de OpenR Panorama, een gebogen scherm met een breedte van 1.130 mm en een hoogte van 110 mm. In tegenstelling tot de steeds vaker voorkomende extra grote touchscreens in het midden van het dashboard, is dit scherm niet bedoeld om aan te raken.<\/p>\n

In plaats daarvan wordt de informatie over de gehele breedte van het interieur weergegeven, terwijl twee kleinere, verstelbare touchscreens die rond de stuurkolom zijn gemonteerd, de functies ervan bedienen. Renault stelt dat deze opstelling de ergonomie verbetert en ervoor zorgt dat de informatie dichter bij het natuurlijke gezichtsveld van de bestuurder blijft.<\/p>\n

De Franse fabrikant bevestigt uitdrukkelijk dat de toekomstige Rafale en Scenic de eerste modellen zullen zijn die van het panoramische display zullen profiteren. Dat betekent echter niet noodzakelijkerwijs dat ze de volledige dashboardarchitectuur van het concept zullen overnemen.<\/p>\n

Een andere innovatie is de \u2018steer-by-wire\u2019-technologie, waarbij de mechanische verbinding tussen het stuurwiel en de voorwielen is weggevallen. Hierdoor kunnen de ontwerpers van Renault gebruikmaken van een compact stuurwiel met een vaste centrale naaf en instelbare stuureigenschappen.<\/p>\n

Renault heeft voorlopig nog niet bevestigd of dit stuursysteem samen met het panoramische scherm in productie zal gaan.<\/p>\n

Een elektrische woonkamer op wielen<\/h4>\n

Het interieur van de E-Space gaat een stuk verder dan de oorspronkelijke MPV-filosofie. De zes afzonderlijke stoelen staan op een volledig vlakke vloer onder een enorm glazen dak, met pilaarloze, tegenover elkaar liggende deuren die toegang bieden.<\/p>\n

De twee stoelen op de tweede rij kunnen 180 graden draaien, waardoor de achterpassagiers tegenover elkaar kunnen zitten. Ze kunnen ook worden neergeklapt om een grote tafel te vormen. De passagiers op de tweede rij hebben bovendien toegang tot 12,3-inch entertainmentschermen die aan de rugleuningen van de voorstoelen zijn bevestigd.<\/p>\n

Een op afstand bedienbare centrale console schuift over de hele lengte van het passagierscompartiment. Deze is voorzien van een kleine koelkast, een luchtreiniger, gamecontrollers en zelfs een traditioneel \u2018Vier op een rij\u2019-spel.<\/p>\n

Of gezinnen daadwerkelijk gebruik zouden maken van een dergelijke opstelling is een andere vraag. Veel functies lijken meer geschikt voor een stilstaand voertuig dan voor dagelijks gebruik, en het valt nog te bezien of ze voldoen aan de veiligheidseisen voor serieproductie.<\/p>\n

Duurzaamheid gaat hand in hand met extravagantie<\/h4>\n

Renault experimenteert ook met ongebruikelijke materialen. Voor decoratieve elementen wordt gekleurd stro gebruikt in plaats van hout, het dikke tapijt is volledig van wol gemaakt en op andere plaatsen in het interieur worden biogebaseerde harsen en materialen op basis van ricinusolie gebruikt.<\/p>\n

Deze keuzes onderstrepen de ambitie van Renault om verder te gaan dan de traditionele luxe in de automobielsector, hoewel het bedrijf geen milieubeoordeling heeft verstrekt waaruit de algehele duurzaamheid van het concept blijkt.<\/p>\n

Met een lengte van 4,70 meter en een breedte van 2,02 meter is de E-Space bepaald niet compact. De uitgebreide beglazing en de enorme wielen roepen bovendien vragen op over de kosten, de thermische effici\u00ebntie en de bruikbaarheid van dit voertuig in serieproductie.<\/p>\n

Een comeback van de MPV of gewoon een technologisch proeflaboratorium?<\/h4>\n

Cruciaal is dat Renault nog steeds geen informatie heeft vrijgegeven over de accucapaciteit, de actieradius, de oplaadprestaties of de specificaties van de motor. Ook heeft het bedrijf nog geen productietijdschema bekendgemaakt. De E-Space blijft daarom een ontwerpstudie en is nog geen bevestigd elektrisch alternatief voor de huidige Espace in SUV-uitvoering.<\/p>\n

Toch reikt de betekenis ervan verder dan alleen nostalgie. Renault werkt aan een nieuwe generatie grotere elektrische auto\u2019s en moet deze onderscheiden op een steeds drukker wordende Europese markt.<\/p>\n

Het concept suggereert een mogelijk antwoord: voorrang geven aan passagiersruimte, flexibiliteit en comfort in plaats van simpelweg weer een SUV met hoge bodemvrijheid te bouwen.<\/p>\n

Voorlopig zijn de duidelijkste commerci\u00eble resultaten de Scenic van de volgende generatie en de nieuwe digitale cockpit van de Rafale. Of Renault uiteindelijk weer een volledig elektrische Espace op de markt zal brengen, blijft de grote onbeantwoorde vraag.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
