Volgens gegevens van de brancheorganisaties Febiac en Traxio blijft de automarkt in Belux zich steeds verder in de richting van elektrificatie ontwikkelen. Tot nu toe werd deze verschuiving vooral aangedreven door de zakelijke markt, maar dezelfde trend tekent zich nu ook af op de markt voor particuliere kopers.<\/p>\n

In de eerste 9 maanden van 2026 waren BEV\u2019s goed voor 39,1% van alle nieuw geregistreerde auto\u2019s, een stijging ten opzichte van 34,7% vorig jaar en 28,5% in 2024. PHEV\u2019s gingen daarentegen de tegenovergestelde richting uit en vertegenwoordigen nu 5,9% van de totale markt, een daling ten opzichte van 9,3% in 2025 en 14,9% in 2024.\u2019Zelfopladende\u2019 hybriden waren goed voor 11,41 TP3T van de totale verkoop. Het aandeel van benzineauto\u2019s bleef stabiel op 39,91 TP3T, terwijl dat van dieselauto\u2019s daalde tot 2,71 TP3T.<\/p>\n

Er is nog steeds een duidelijk verschil tussen professionele en particuliere kopers<\/h4>\n

In de eerste drie kwartalen van 2026 blijven benzineauto\u2019s veruit de populairste keuze bij particuliere kopers (59,4%), terwijl het tegenovergestelde geldt voor de zakelijke markt, waar 60,9% nu uit volledig elektrische auto\u2019s (BEV\u2019s) bestaat. Ook de kloof tussen beide markten wordt weer kleiner: van de 320.374 nieuwe auto\u2019s die in de eerste negen maanden werden verkocht, werden er 44,1% door particuliere kopers geregistreerd en 55,9% door zakelijke kopers.<\/p>\n

Als we naar de top tien van de modellen kijken, zien we in de zakelijke sector uitsluitend BEV\u2019s, terwijl er in de particuliere sector nog steeds 8 benzineauto\u2019s in de ranglijst staan en twee ge\u00eblektrificeerde modellen: de Toyota Yaris (3e plaats) en, voor het eerst, een Chinees merk in de ranglijst: de BYD Seal U (een PHEV) op de 9e plaats.<\/p>\n

De populairste nieuwe auto in Belux is de BMW iX3, gevolgd door de Tesla Y, de BMW iX1, de Citro\u00ebn C3 en de Dacia Sandero. In Vlaanderen is de BMW X1 het populairste model; in Walloni\u00eb de Dacia Sandero; en in Brussel de Citro\u00ebn C3.<\/p>\n

Tweedehandsmarkt<\/h4>\n

Hoewel de tweedehandsmarkt in de eerste negen maanden van 2026 licht is gekrompen (-3,31 TP3T), vertegenwoordigt deze nog steeds bijna tweederde van de totale automarkt in de Belux (62,71 TP3T).<\/p>\n

Particuliere kopers registreren 91,2% van deze tweedehandsauto\u2019s. E\u00e9n categorie wijkt af van deze trend: BEV\u2019s. De zakelijke sector registreert nog steeds 51,5% van alle tweedehands elektrische auto\u2019s. Over het geheel genomen domineren benzineauto\u2019s nog steeds de tweedehandsmarkt (55,9%), terwijl het aandeel van dieselauto\u2019s afneemt (22,1%) en dat van elektrische auto\u2019s toeneemt: 21,4% in totaal, waarvan 15,4% hybride auto\u2019s en 6% volledig elektrische auto\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Hoewel de absolute aantallen nog bescheiden zijn, neemt het aantal BEV\u2019s op de tweedehandsmarkt snel toe, met 41,8% in 2026. Bedrijven kopen 48,5% en particuliere kopers 45,4%. De resterende 6% wordt geleased of gehuurd.<\/p>\n
