Terwijl Europese autofabrikanten moeite hebben om elektrische auto\u2019s betaalbaar te maken, gaat het Chinese BYD juist de tegenovergestelde kant op: het bedrijf biedt luxe, prestaties en geavanceerde technologie tegen prijzen die volgens Europese maatstaven bijna onmogelijk lijken. Zijn nieuwe elektrische vlaggenschip, de Da Han, belooft een actieradius tot 1.008 km, bijna 500 hp en een oplaadtijd van negen minuten voor een prijs van omgerekend ongeveer \u20ac 30.000.<\/p>\n

De BYD Da Han (Great Han), die op 13 oktober in China werd onthuld, is een luxe elektrische sedan van 5,26 meter lang, waarmee hij zich duidelijk in het gezelschap bevindt van de BMW i5, de Mercedes EQE en de Audi A6 e-tron.<\/p>\n

Toch bedraagt de vanafprijs van 235.900 yuan (ongeveer 28.500 euro) slechts een fractie van wat Europese klanten betalen voor vergelijkbare elektrische auto\u2019s uit het topsegment.<\/p>\n

Zelfs als we rekening houden met EU-invoertarieven, Belgische btw, transport- en distributiekosten, zou een hypothetische Europese prijs van \u20ac 50.000\u2013\u20ac 60.000 nog steeds aanzienlijk lager liggen dan die van de BMW i5 (vanaf \u20ac 74.950), de Mercedes EQE (\u20ac 67.760) en de Audi A6 e-tron (\u20ac 65.300). De grotere Mercedes EQS begint bij bijna \u20ac 100.000.<\/p>\n

BYD heeft echter nog geen bevestiging gegeven over een Europese lancering of de prijs van de Da Han. In China zijn er drie uitvoeringen verkrijgbaar, waarbij het topmodel 275.900 yuan (ongeveer 33.400 euro) kost.<\/p>\n

Zelfs het instapmodel levert 370 kW (496 pk) en accelereert in 4,9 seconden naar 100 km\/u. Het vlaggenschip met dubbele motor en vierwielaandrijving haalt een vermogen van 570 kW (764 pk) en accelereert in slechts 3,3 seconden.<\/p>\n

Luxe zonder de hoge prijs?<\/h4>\n

Ondanks de scherpe prijsstelling heeft BYD niet bezuinigd op de uitrusting. De Da Han is uitgerust met achterwielbesturing, luchtvering met twee kamers, Nappa-leder, stoelen met massagefunctie en een Devialet-audiosysteem met 31 luidsprekers.<\/p>\n

Passagiers achterin beschikken over verstelbare stoelen met elektrische beensteunen, terwijl het dashboard een centraal display van 17,3 inch combineert met een augmented reality-head-updisplay van 40 inch. BYD\u2019s nieuwste, op LiDAR gebaseerde rijhulpsysteem \u2018God\u2019s Eye\u2019 5.0 behoort eveneens tot de standaarduitrusting.<\/p>\n

De luchtweerstandsco\u00ebffici\u00ebnt van 0,197 verklaart mede het opmerkelijke opgegeven bereik. De versie met achterwielaandrijving legt volgens de Chinese CLTC-cyclus tot 1.008 km af, dankzij een Blade-accu van de tweede generatie met een capaciteit van 102,3 kWh.<\/p>\n

De Chinese CLTC-testcyclus is echter ruimer dan de Europese WLTP-norm. Het geschatte WLTP-equivalente bereik van de Da Han van 800\u2013820 km zou ruimschoots hoger liggen dan de 626 km van de BMW i5 en de 693 km van de Mercedes EQE.<\/p>\n

Maar het zou achterblijven bij de nieuwe BMW i3 Neue Klasse, die een actieradius van maximaal 912 km belooft, en de vernieuwde Mercedes EQS, die een actieradius van maximaal 926 km heeft. In tegenstelling tot deze Europese cijfers blijft de WLTP-equivalente actieradius van BYD een onoffici\u00eble schatting.<\/p>\n

Negen minuten opladen, onder bepaalde voorwaarden<\/h4>\n

Nog opvallender is de bewering van BYD dat de accu met behulp van het Flash Charging-systeem in 9 minuten kan worden opgeladen van 10% tot 97%. Dat betekent dat er bijna 89 kWh wordt bijgevuld in minder tijd dan veel automobilisten nodig hebben om te tanken en te betalen.<\/p>\n

Om dit te realiseren is echter een speciale infrastructuur met een hoog vermogen nodig. De nieuwste laders van BYD kunnen tot 1.500 kW leveren, wat ver boven de capaciteit van de meeste Europese openbare laadpunten ligt. Onafhankelijke verificatie van de laadprestaties van Da Han in de praktijk blijft beperkt.<\/p>\n

De technologie is niettemin relevant voor Europa. BYD heeft zojuist op de Autosalon van Parijs zijn elektrische SUV Atto 8 met zeven zitplaatsen gepresenteerd, die is uitgerust met dezelfde Blade Battery-technologie van de tweede generatie en volgens de fabrikant in negen minuten kan worden opgeladen. De verkoop in Europa gaat naar verwachting begin 2027 van start.<\/p>\n

Naar verluidt streeft BYD ernaar om tegen eind 2026 100 Flash Chargers in heel Europa te plaatsen en tegen eind 2027 3.000. Of dat ambitieuze tijdschema gehaald kan worden, valt nog te bezien.<\/p>\n

Een waarschuwing voor de Europese topmerken<\/h4>\n

Er zijn momenteel geen bevestigde plannen om de Da Han in Europa op de markt te brengen. De Chinese prijs zou hier bovendien onmogelijk rechtstreeks kunnen worden gehanteerd, gezien de invoerrechten, transportkosten, typegoedkeuring, belastingen en distributiekosten.<\/p>\n

Toch laat deze auto zien hoe snel het concurrentielandschap verandert. Chinese fabrikanten vertrouwen niet langer alleen op goedkope elektrische auto\u2019s. Ze bieden steeds vaker technologie\u00ebn en uitrusting aan die van oudsher voorbehouden waren aan de duurste Europese modellen.<\/p>\n

De groeiende Europese ambities van BYD maken dit des te relevanter. Het bedrijf breidt zijn dealernetwerk uit, bereidt lokale productie voor en investeert in zijn eigen laadinfrastructuur.<\/p>\n

De Da Han zal wellicht nooit in Europese showrooms te zien zijn. Maar de technologie die erachter schuilgaat, zal dat vrijwel zeker wel doen. En voor BMW, Mercedes en Audi is de ongemakkelijke vraag niet langer of Chinese fabrikanten op het gebied van kwaliteit en innovatie kunnen concurreren, maar hoe lang de Europese premiumprijzen die concurrentie nog kunnen weerstaan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
