Onderzoek Uit een onderzoek in opdracht van Auto5 blijkt dat 63% van de automobilisten banden kiezen op basis van de prijs. 33% zoeken naar de beste aanbieding door online verschillende opties te vergelijken, hoewel slechts 24% ze online kopen.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Auto5 waarschuwt dat het niet altijd de beste keuze op de lange termijn is om uitsluitend naar de prijs van nieuwe banden te kijken.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Uit het Auto5-onderzoek blijkt ook dat 65% van de automobilisten bereid is meer te betalen voor betere kwaliteit, veiligheid en een langere levensduur. Dit betekent dat de prijs sinds 2024 bijna 10% minder belangrijk is geworden. Bovendien, cHet kiezen van een goedkopere, onafhankelijk geteste band uit het middensegment is niet hetzelfde als het kiezen van een onveilige band.<\/span><\/p>\n

Investeringen in veiligheid<\/h4>\n

Nieuwe banden zijn duur, dus is het verstandig om prijzen te vergelijken. Het hangt echter allemaal af van je rijgedrag. Hoeveel kilometer rijd je en wat voor routes leg je af? Onder welke omstandigheden?\u2026 Dit zijn vragen die je jezelf als bestuurder moet stellen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Volgens een vergelijkende zomertest van de ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club) uit 2025, waarbij 18 zomerbanden werden getest op hun remprestaties op nat asfalt, was het verschil in remweg tussen de beste en de slechtste banden onder dezelfde omstandigheden bijna 17 meter.<\/p>\n

De goedkoopste band is echter niet per se de gevaarlijkste. Uit de test van de ADAC uit 2026 bleek dat de relatief goedkope Chinese Linglong Sport Master uitzonderlijk goed presteerde op natte wegen, maar moeite had met de wegligging op droog wegdek en de levensduur van de band.<\/p>\n

Daarom is het belangrijk om de band in zijn geheel te beoordelen, en niet alleen op basis van de prijs of \u00e9\u00e9n prestatiekenmerk. Uit onafhankelijke tests blijkt keer op keer dat de prestaties aanzienlijk verschillen tussen modellen, en niet alleen tussen prijssegmenten.<\/p>\n

Worden all-seasonbanden dan een veiligheidsprobleem?<\/h4>\n

Volgens de Duitse bandenbrancheorganisatie BRV werden all-seasonbanden in 2025 de best verkochte bandencategorie van het land. Ook Auto5 meldde in 2025 een stijging van 30% in de verkoop van all-seasonbanden.<\/p>\n

Uit de ADAC-test van juli 2026 bleek dat acht van de zestien banden niet werden aanbevolen, waaronder vijf die als onvoldoende werden beoordeeld. Uit hun winterbandentest van 2026 bleek dat de ADAC negen van de zestien winterbanden voor kleine auto\u2019s niet aanbeveelde.<\/p>\n

Sommige banden waren voorzien van het sneeuwvloksymbool met drie bergtoppen, wat aangeeft dat ze voldoen aan de geldende eisen voor wintertractie, maar presteerden toch slecht in de uitgebreidere wintertests van de ADAC. Het voldoen aan de wettelijke eisen is geen garantie voor goede allround prestaties.<\/p>\n

Hoe zit het met andere landen?<\/h4>\n

Het is moeilijk om banden en prijzen in buurlanden met elkaar te vergelijken, maar bepaalde nationale keuringsgegevens bieden interessante inzichten. In Vlaanderen had 76% van de geteste auto\u2019s een onjuiste bandenspanning, meestal te laag. Dit wijst op een onderhoudsprobleem, niet per se op de aankoop van onveilige banden. Een tendens om noodzakelijk onderhoud uit te stellen of banden te gebruiken die slecht presteren, kan gevaarlijk zijn.<\/p>\n

In Nederland staan banden op de zesde plaats van de tien meest voorkomende defectcategorie\u00ebn. Bij 9,5 miljoen keuringen bleken 21,5% van de auto\u2019s ernstige of gevaarlijke defecten te hebben. In Duitsland werden bij 10,45% van de keuringen ernstige defecten aan assen, wielen, banden of de ophanging vastgesteld.<\/p>\n

Alleen de Franse statistieken geven meer gedetailleerde informatie over ongevallen die verband houden met slechte of versleten banden. Het Franse nationale observatorium voor verkeersveiligheid, ONISR, meldt dat bandenslijtage en klapbanden relatief zeldzame oorzaken zijn bij geregistreerde ongevallen, maar onevenredig vaak voorkomen bij ongevallen met dodelijke afloop.<\/p>\n

Belgi\u00eb is niet het enige land dat te maken heeft met problemen op het gebied van bandenonderhoud en -conditie. Uit deze cijfers blijkt echter niet of Belgische automobilisten vaker goedkopere banden kopen dan hun buren.<\/p>\n

Automobilisten moeten steeds vaker een afweging maken tussen betaalbaarheid en een bandenmarkt waarin de objectief gemeten verschillen in veiligheid aanzienlijk blijven.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
