Volvo Cars gaat 2.500 banen schrappen, voornamelijk in zijn thuisland Zweden, nu de groep de kosten drastisch wil terugdringen vanwege de hevige concurrentie van Chinese autofabrikanten en omdat invoerheffingen en een zwakke vraag de verkoop in de VS onder druk zetten.<\/p>

Het bedrijf, waarin het Chinese Geely een meerderheidsbelang heeft, rapporteerde voor het derde kwartaal een gecorrigeerd bedrijfsverlies van 3,7 miljard Zweedse kronen (333 miljoen euro), tegenover een winst van 5,8 miljard kronen (522 miljoen euro) een jaar eerder.<\/p>
