De auto raakte total loss, maar de testcoureur kwam er ongedeerd vanaf.<\/p>\n<p>De publicatie van de beelden van het ongeval valt samen met de bevestiging dat de elektrische supercar van BYD een poging zal doen om de topsnelheid van 500 km\/u te doorbreken. De recordpoging staat gepland voor november en zal plaatsvinden in Dubai.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">De doelstelling van 500 km\/u werd vastgesteld na de <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">U9 Xtreme <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2025\/09\/22\/how-byds-yangwang-u9-xtreme-prevents-going-airborne-at-496-22-km-h\/\">bereikte een topsnelheid van 496,22 km\/u<\/a> in 2025. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Destijds was het<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0opgenomen op het testterrein voor auto\u2019s in Papenburg, Duitsland. Door de Bugatti Chiron achter zich te laten, werd het<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0de snelste productieauto. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Een verbetering van het record op afgesloten openbare wegen in Dubai zou het hero\u00efsche imago van de auto nog verder versterken. Maar dat lijkt allesbehalve eenvoudig te zijn. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Vernietigd, maar de piloot is ongedeerd<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Wat de oorzaak was van het ongeval op het afgesloten testcircuit in China is onduidelijk, en ook wanneer het precies plaatsvond, is een raadsel. Uit de beelden blijkt wel dat het ongeval tijdens testritten plaatsvond. De voor- en achterkant van de auto, evenals het grootste deel van de carrosserie, werden vernield, maar de veiligheidskooi bleef intact. Er waren ook geen tekenen van brand, dus het 80 kWh-accupakket lijkt het eveneens te hebben overleefd.<\/p>\n<p>Hulpverleners haastten zich naar de plaats van het ongeval, maar de testpiloot wist zelfstandig uit het voertuig te komen. Uit onderzoek in het ziekenhuis blijkt dat hij het ongeval zonder ernstige verwondingen heeft overleefd.<\/p>\n<p>Een indrukwekkende prestatie en een bewijs van de technische kwaliteit van de auto. En ongetwijfeld was een van de redenen waarom BYD ervoor koos om de beelden vrij te geven, om de aandacht te vestigen op de nieuwe recordpoging.<\/p>\n<h4><b>500 km\/u in het verschiet?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>De BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme is een krachtpatser, met vier elektromotoren die elk 555 kW leveren, wat neerkomt op een totaalvermogen van 2.200 kW, oftewel ongeveer 3.000 hp.<\/p>\n<p>Naast zijn enorme vermogen is deze supercar ook het technische paradepaardje van BYD. Hij is gebouwd op \u2019s werelds eerste 1.200 V-platform op basis van siliciumcarbide en ondersteunt een ontladingssnelheid van 30C, waardoor de motoren voldoende vermogen krijgen uit de 80 kWh-accu.<\/p>\n<p>Maar zelfs met dit soort vermogen en technologie blijft de grens van 500 km\/u een zeer ambitieus doel.
