Voor de tweede keer dit jaar heeft de Franse treinfabrikant Alstom zijn financi\u00eble prognoses voor het hele jaar fors naar beneden bijgesteld. Het probleem is niet een gebrek aan orders, maar de uitvoering ervan.<\/p>\n

Alstom noemt implementatieproblemen met het Coradia Max-platform als de belangrijkste oorzaak. Hoewel er al honderden Coradia Max-treinen zijn besteld, kampt Alstom momenteel met grote productie- en leveringsproblemen bij deze modulaire elektrische dubbeldeks-EMU (elektrische motorwagen), die is ontworpen voor het regionale vervoer in Duitsland.<\/p>\n

Dit leidde tot een aanzienlijke winstwaarschuwing van Alstom, aangezien het bedrijf bijna 950 miljard euro aan brutomargeaanpassingen en boetes moest opvangen. Als direct gevolg daarvan kelderde de aandelenkoers van Alstom op de beurs met meer dan 27%. Voorlopig lijken de directe gevolgen voor de twee Belgische vestigingen beperkt te zijn.<\/p>\n

Domino-effect<\/h4>\n

Alstom heeft zes grote Duitse contracten binnengehaald voor de Coradia Max, een nieuw type regionale trein. Deze contracten hebben samen een waarde van ongeveer 5 miljard euro en hebben betrekking op 208 treinstellen (850 rijtuigen).<\/p>\n

De 34 treinen voor Nedersaksen stonden oorspronkelijk gepland voor 2024, maar zijn nu voor de zevende keer uitgesteld. Voor Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg zouden 80 van de 130 treinen uiterlijk in december 2025 worden geleverd; Alstom verwachtte uiteindelijk slechts 14 te kunnen leveren.<\/p>\n

De belangrijkste oorzaken van de vertraging zijn materiaaltekorten en onvoorziene problemen in het productie- en goedkeuringsproces. \u201cEr waren niet alleen technische problemen, maar de organisatie die verantwoordelijk was voor het beheer van het project was ook niet effici\u00ebnt of effectief\u201d, aldus financieel directeur Bernard Delpit in een analyse.<\/p>\n

Als gevolg daarvan kreeg Alstom te maken met contractueel vastgelegde boetes die zijn marges ondermijnen. Problemen in de laatste ontwikkelingsfase, die bijvoorbeeld de levering van de eerste treinstellen aan de eerste klant met 9 maanden zullen vertragen, hebben echter ook een \u201cdomino-effect\u201d teweeggebracht op andere Duitse projecten. Dit verklaart waarom de projecten in Duitsland nu leiden tot een negatieve marge en een negatieve kasstroom.<\/p>\n

Lagere productieprognose<\/h4>\n

Voor het lopende boekjaar, dat loopt van april tot en met maart, verlaagt Alstom daarom zijn productieprognose van 4.400 of 4.500 naar 4.000 treinwagons.<\/p>\n

De gecorrigeerde operationele winstmarge zal naar verwachting slechts 1% bedragen, nadat de fabrikant die doelstelling in april had verlaagd van 8-10% naar 6,5%. Er zal ook een kasstroomtekort van 1,5 miljard zijn, terwijl de vrije kasstroom volgens de laatste prognoses naar verwachting nog steeds \u201cpositief\u201d zal zijn.<\/p>\n

En hoewel de omzet met slechts 2% steeg (tot 9,3 miljard), ontving het bedrijf ook voor 11 miljard euro aan nieuwe orders.<\/p>\n

Voorlopig geen gevolgen voor Belgi\u00eb<\/h4>\n

Alstom, met Martin Sion als nieuwe CEO sinds april, voert momenteel een uitgebreidere evaluatie van de groep door en streeft ernaar de kosten verder te verlagen. Daarnaast wordt er een nieuw plan uitgewerkt om de schuld met ongeveer 2 miljard euro te verminderen, waarbij ook afstotingen zullen plaatsvinden. \u201cWe hebben activa ge\u00efdentificeerd en zijn met het proces begonnen\u201d, aldus Delpit. Hij weigerde verdere details te verstrekken.<\/p>\n

De treinfabrikant, die sinds het begin van het jaar meer dan de helft van zijn marktwaarde heeft verloren, is ook actief in Belgi\u00eb, met onder meer twee expertisecentra in Charleroi en een fabriek in Brugge.<\/p>\n

In die laatste vestiging, waar ongeveer 500 mensen werken, heeft het bedrijf dit jaar een reorganisatie doorgevoerd, wat heeft geleid tot 124 ontslagen.<\/p>\n

De komende weken zullen in de fabriek in West-Vlaanderen de laatste M7-dubbeldeksrijtuigen voor de NMBS\/SNCB worden geproduceerd. Voorlopig lijkt deze winstwaarschuwing echter geen concrete gevolgen te hebben voor de Belgische vestigingen.<\/p>\n

In de tweede helft van 2027 zal er wellicht meer duidelijkheid komen, wanneer CEO Sion tijdens een \u201ccapital markets day\u201d de nieuwe organisatiestructuur en de financi\u00eble doelstellingen voor de middellange termijn van de groep zal presenteren.\u201d<\/p>\n

Er is ook nog steeds geen concrete overeenkomst tussen het Spaanse bedrijf CAF en Alstom Brugge over een mogelijke samenwerking<\/a> om de 180 nieuwe treinstellen voor de NMBS\/SNCB te bouwen.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
