Audi has updated its most compact all-electric model, the Q4 e-tron, with a new electric motor, an improved battery, and a tweaked suspension for better handling. The standard equipment has been improved, too. From the end of the year, Audi Brussels will also build the updated Q4 e-tron to meet demand.
The updates to the Audi Q4 e-tron for 2023 don’t come as a surprise: we already saw them recently with the Skoda Enyaq and the Volkswagen ID.7, among other MEB platform-based models from the VW Group. But more efficiency in an EV is always welcome, and the Q4 becomes a bit more usable with these updates.

More power, more range
The rear motor for the Q4 45 e-tron and Q4 55 e-tron quattro models has been upgraded to the new APP550 permanently excited synchronous motor. That means more power (210 kW/286 hp for the Q4 45 and 250 kW/340 hp for the Q4 55), and better efficiency, with up to 562 km of range for the Q4 Sportback 45 e-tron, the most efficient model of the bunch.
The battery has been improved, too, although no extra capacity has been added. You still get an 82 kWh unit (77 kWh usable capacity), but the cell chemistry has been optimized, allowing faster charging.
A quick charge from 10 to 80 percent now takes 28 minutes. The Q4 e-tron also cools the battery after stopping if it gets too hot after driving or charging.

Better handling
The steering response has been quickened to improve handling, while the damping has also been recalibrated to improve body control. This should result in more agility. There’s good news, too, if you’re the kind of driver who likes to let the car take control: the adaptive cruise assist can now perform assisted lane changes.
Finally, the standard equipment now includes Audi MMI navigation plus, the Audi Connect infotainment system and the 10,25-inch Audi virtual cockpit, an electric trunk lid, and heated front seats.
Coming to Brussels
The updated Audi Q4 e-tron will be available to order from September 26. From the end of the year, the model will also be produced at Audi Brussels, alongside its big brother Q8 e-tron, to meet the demand for the popular compact crossover.
