Callum Skye is now ready to order

The small but sporty EV off-roader designed by Ian Callum, the Callum Skye, is now ready to order. The Callum Skye is the first EV from Ian Callum, the iconic British car designer’s own design and engineering firm after he left Jaguar, where he was heading design for decades.

The car will be revealed at Concours on Savile Row in Mayfair, London, on 22 and 23 May. The Callum Skye has been tested in Europe and is now available to order. According to the British car magazine Autocar, the production version is priced from £80,000 to £110,000 (€93,500 to €128,700). The company plans to release several variants, but more details and specs will be revealed later.

Small, light, agile

The tiny electric sports car is designed for those seeking “extraordinary on and off-road adventures,” the company says, and is crafted with “the utmost capability, refinement, and beauty.”

Powered by a 42 kWh battery pack, the Callum Skye is expected to have a range of up to 170 miles (270 kilometers). It also includes ultra-fast charging, allowing a full charge in under 10 minutes.

The Skye is small at 4,047 mm long and 1,900 mm wide, but it boasts sports car performance, with a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 kph) sprint in under four seconds. There’s a reason for this swift performance: at just 1,150 kg, the off-roader is one of the lightest EVs on the market.

The inside features a central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Callum designed the dashboard with a focus on functionality and easy touchscreen dials.

Up front are two cossetting sports seats. Meanwhile, the rear features a versatile bench that can be removed for extra storage. Callum says the hinged tailgate has enough storage for luggage for a long weekend getaway, sports gear, and lifestyle gear.
