Mobilize, Renault Group’s sustainable mobility arm has opened 25 fast-charging locations in France and plans to open as many as 100 by the end of 2025. The group also hopes to manage 650 EV charging hubs across Western Europe by the end of 2028. Belgium and Spain are a priority here.
The Mobilize Fast Charge stations are fitted with chargers that deliver up to 320 kW of power. The company claims these ultra-fast charging stations can provide as much as 400 km of charge range in around 15 minutes. These stations are accessible to all electric vehicle drivers.
They also work with the Plug & Charge service, which enables users to start charging compatible vehicles automatically without presenting a payment card.
For the first two months that each new location is open, Mobilize runs a promotional rate of €0.41/kWh for card payments, while Renault Group customers with a Mobilize Charge Pass can access a rate of €0.39/kWh for one year.
“Electrification is transforming the value chain of automotive manufacturers. Today, our role goes beyond vehicles, and generating recurring revenues has become essential for investing in the industry’s future,” states Gianluca De Ficchy, CEO of Mobilize.
He adds: “Mobilize Fast Charge is one of the pillars of Mobilize’s strategy to achieve this objective. At the same time, this new network allows us to reassure our customers in their transition to electric mobility.”
Belgium, Spain, and Italy are next
Over the next year and a half, Mobilize plans to expand its network in Belgium and Spain, which it says are two target markets for Renault Group’s vehicles.
In addition, Mobilize also owns a stake in Free to X, a subsidiary of the Italian highway operator Autostrade per l’Italia. This gives it access to a network of 104 fast-charging locations across Italy. By the end of 2028, Mobilize hopes to operate 650 charging hubs in France, Belgium, Italy, and Spain.
Fast and comfortable
Mobilize is part of the Renault Group and was launched to open more than 90 charging sites in France and 200 across Europe. Currently, the company has 25 locations in France.
Its charging hubs utilize intelligent load management systems combined with retired EV batteries and, occasionally, solar panels.
At locations where it is relevant, Mobilize Fast Charge offers a complimentary and secure lounge area for customers. An isolated ‘phone box’ is available for making calls in complete privacy. Numerous services are also provided to optimize time during charging: coffee, snacks, Wi-Fi access, and restrooms.
“In light of the electrification of the European vehicle fleet, we are committed to an ambitious expansion of our charging station network to address the increasing need for infrastructure,” adds Anne-Cécile Bonneville, Fast Charge Director at Mobilize.
“Thanks to Renault Group’s expertise in electric vehicles, our stations combine reliability, efficiency, and simplicity for users,” she adds.
