Maxus eDeliver7 one-ton electric van arrives in Benelux

Maxus’ new mid-size electric van, the eDeliver 7, has arrived in the Benelux. It features a WLTP range of up to 370 km thanks to battery packs of up to 88 kWh. It has a cargo space of up to 6,7 m³ thanks to a long-wheelbase version, with a payload of up to 1 125 kg. Pricing starts at €49 990 ex. VAT in Belgium.

Maxus Motors, a specialist in electric commercial vehicles and part of the SAIC group, which also has MG in its European offering, has launched its new mid-size one-ton electric van in the Benelux. The eDeliver 7 slots between the smaller eDeliver 3 and the large eDeliver 9, which have been present in the Benelux since 2020.

Up to 6,7 m³ of cargo space

The eDeliver 7 is available in two lengths (L1H1: 4 998 mm, L2H1: 5 364 mm), with a width of 2 030 mm and a height of 1 990 mm. The wheelbase is 3 000 mm for the short version and 3 366 mm for the more extended version. This gives it a cargo volume of 5,9 m³ and 6,7 m³, respectively. The payload varies between 980 kg and 1 125 kg, depending on the size and powertrain.

370 km WLTP range

Speaking of which, two battery packs are available: 77 kWh or 88 kWh. The first gives the eDeliver 7 a WLTP range of 318 km; the second reaches up to 370 km. The more extended L2H1 version is only available with the 88 kWh pack. Power comes from a 150 kW (204 hp) and 330 Nm motor, which powers the front axle. Top speed is limited to 120 km/hour.

It’s a good thing that the range is quite extensive for an electric van, as the charging speeds are pretty limited. AC charging is available up to 11 kW, while DC charging is limited to 80 kW, meaning the smaller pack takes 43 minutes to fast-charge from 20 to 80 percent.

Other features include three driving modes (Eco, Normal, and Power), several ADAS functions, including blind spot detection, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and a rearview camera. A 12,3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes as standard.

The Maxus eDeliver 7 is available for €49 990. VAT in Belgium, with deliveries starting in Q1 2024. But contrary to the earlier offers from Maxus, the competition is likely to be steep, with the Ford E-Transit Custom and the electric Volkswagen Transporter coming in 2024.
