XPeng G6 arrives in Europe

Chinese electric car manufacturer Xpeng is now accepting orders for its third model in Europe. The electric SUV G6 is initially available in Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, and it is cheaper than a Tesla Model Y.

In Belgium, the Xpeng starts at €42,990 (190 kW, RWD, 435 km WLTP range), the same price as in the Netherlands. By comparison, the similarly sized Tesla Model Y, with a smaller battery and single motor, is available in Belgium for 45,970 euros for the rear-wheel drive version.

The XPeng G6 Long-Range RWD (210 kW, 570 km range) costs a minimum of €49,990 in the Netherlands, while the cheapest all-wheel drive version (350 kW, dual motor, 550 km range) is priced at €52,990. The prices in Belgium for those versions are unknown yet, but they should be similar to those in the Netherlands.

Almost all-in

The Xpeng G6’s standard color is Arctic White. For an additional charge of €800, the model is also available in various colors, including Graphite Gray, Midnight Black, Silver Frost, or the introductory color, Fiery Orange. Customers can choose between Black or Diamond Gray for the interior.

The G6 has 20-inch aluminum wheels, a panoramic roof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 960 W audio system with 18 speakers. Apart from the colors mentioned above, the only option is an electrically extendable trailer coupling (up to 1,500 kilograms towing capacity) for €1,190.

The G6 is the fifth model in Xpeng’s range and the third to be offered in Europe. The Chinese electric car manufacturer unveiled the five-seater a year ago, in April 2023, at Auto China in Shanghai. The coupé-like electric SUV is the first Xpeng model based on the new 800-volt SEPA 2.0 platform, which the company unveiled the day before.

Less than 20 minutes

In terms of batteries, buyers of the G6 can choose between a smaller LFP battery with 66 kWh and a WLTP range of up to 435 kilometers (comparable to the Model Y rear-wheel drive) and a larger NCM battery with 87.5 kWh for a range of 570 kilometers, according to the WLTP. The large battery is standard in the all-wheel drive model.

As Xpeng has confirmed, the small LFP battery can be (DC) charged with up to 215 kW, and the large NMC battery even with 280 kW at its peak. The charging process will take 10 to 80 percent and take “less than 20 minutes.” A three-phase onboard charger with 11 kW is installed for AC charging.

Hedin Automotive

Hedin Automotive imports XPeng into the Belux. From now on, interested potential buyers can test-drive and order a G6 (or a P7 or P9) in one of the three XPeng dealerships of Hedin Automotive in Antwerp, Brussels, and Ghent.

Potential clients can also find XPeng in the new showroom in Maldegem in mid-May. Hedin Automotive is a subsidiary of the Swedish Hedin Mobility Group that has been conducting import and retail activities in Belgium since 2018.

The company distributes ten brands, including BYD Trucks, Dodge, Hongqi, Ineos, Grenadier, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, RAM, Smart, and Toyota.
