Another Chinese EV, Voyah Courage comes to Belgium

The Voyah Courage, a “premium” electric SUV built by Chinese conglomerate Dongfeng Motor, is coming to Belgium this summer. The brand is distributed by the Ghistelinck group, with one dealership currently located near Ghent. And while the specs seem decent, we still don’t know the price.

Voyah is part of Dongfeng Motor’s plan to conquer the European market, alongside brands like Mhero and the low-cost Dongfeng Box, one of the most affordable EVs in Europe. Voyah is positioned on the premium side and already has two models in Europe: the Dream, a 7-seater electric MPV, and the Free, a large electric SUV.

Cheaper premium alternative

However, with prices of €91,190 and €59,995, respectively, European customers might question whether it’s worth splashing this much money on a Chinese vehicle. That’s where the Voyah Courage comes in. At 4,725 mm, it’s more compact than the Free, while still offering ample space and comfort.

The model was first launched in the Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish markets. Now, Voyah has announced the arrival of the Courage on Belgian shores from the summer of 2025. Customers will be able to order two variants: the Business Edition and the Performance Edition.

Up to 476 km range

The latter boasts more impressive specs: 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, thanks to a 320 kW (435 hp) two-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. The Voyah Courage features an 80 kWh battery, providing the rear-wheel-drive Business Edition with a WLTP range of up to 476 km. Fast charging is available at up to 200 kW, which takes 32 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% state of charge.

Other features of the Voyah Courage include ventilated, heated and massaging seats, a 1.7-tonne towing capacity and a 15-inch OLED infotainment screen with smartphone mirroring. Five colors will be available, including two-tone options.

Priced to compete, or doomed from the start?

That leaves the price, which Ghistelinck still hasn’t communicated. The Voyah Courage will compete with the likes of the Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID.4, and Renault Scenic E-Tech, so if it wants to succeed, a starting price of around €40,000 will be necessary.
