Fitness center chain Basic-Fit and PowerGo have joined forces to realize charging solutions at about 450 Basic-Fit locations in Belgium and the Netherlands. PowerGo will install standard and fast chargers, where drivers of electric cars can charge their vehicles with 100% green electricity.
The first location in Belgium will be Basic-Fit Brussels in Jette; in the Netherlands, it will be Basic-Fit Toolenburg in Hoofddorp. PowerGo Technology Officer Ivo van Dam expects a rapid rollout.
Sustainable energy
PowerGo is a subsidiary of Powerfield, a Dutch developer of solar parks. The PowerGo charging stations are supplied with 100% sustainable soal energy sourced from Dutch soil.
“By offering the possibility to charge green electricity, we give customers an extra service and contribute to a more sustainable world,” says Gerard van Medevoort, International Energy Manager at Basic-Fit.
Big step forward
Van Dam: “The collaboration with Basic-Fit is a big step in PowerGo’s ambition to become a major CPO in Europe. It enables us to make an important contribution to the rollout of a European charging network.” Basic-Fit is the largest fitness chain in Europe, with 1 200 clubs in six countries and 3,35 million members.
