BMW’s eParkourer: ‘neither e-motorbike nor e-scooter for the city’

Two years after the full-electric CE 04 ‘kicked off BMW Motorrad’s electric urban mobility future, there is a new full-electric sibling on two wheels: the CE 02 eParkourer.

The bike, with its chassis with a double-loop tube frame, telescopic forks, single-sided swingarm, and cast light alloy wheels, looks somewhat like an oversized fat bike.

Created for the city

It targets young people, and it’s neither an e-motorbike nor an e-scooter, BMW says. It’s an eParkourer created for the city and the urban environment and available starting at €8 590.

In the 11 kW version (15 hp and 55 Nm torque), the eParkourer has a top speed of 95 km/h and is to offer a range of 90 km (WMTC). In Germany, this bike is allowed from 16 years old. Elsewhere, country-specific regulations might apply.

You must be 18 in Belgium to do the practical exam A1 for this kind of motorbike, comparable to a 125cc. The 4 kW (5 hp) version of the eParkourer is limited to 45 km/h. This one is accessible from 15 in Germany, 16 in Belgium, and allowed to be driven with car-license B.

Three driving modes

The eParkourer comes standard with two driving modes, ‘Flow’ for easy navigation through city traffic and ‘Surf’, a more dynamic acceleration. On the 11 kW version, you can have a sporty ‘Flash’ mode as part of the Highline optional BMW Motorrad accessory (€947,42).

A 3,5 inch TFT display informs the driver about riding speed, battery charge status, and more. There is a USB-C port for your smartphone to charge it.

It can also be used as a second display in the Highline version connecting via Bluetooth and using the BMW Motorrad app and the keypad on the handlebar.

ABS and ASC

For safety, the bike is equipped with BMW Motorrad’s ABS (front wheel only), ASC (Automatic Stability Control), and RSC (Recuperative Stability Control), plus a reverse assistant.

There is a standard external charger of 0,9 kW to be plugged into a standard household 220V socket or a 1.5 kW quick charger with the Highline option for the 11 kW-version.
