Estonian mobility company Bolt wants to make Brussels more inclusive, so under the banner ‘Bolt for All,’ they want to make their e-scooters and e-bikes more accessible to everyone.
From now on, all students, job seekers, and people dependent on one of the 19 Brussels Social Services who receive a living wage or its equivalent will receive a 50% discount on the minute price of all rides on their e-scooters and e-bikes.
Accessible to all
“At Bolt, we firmly believe that shared mobility should be accessible to all, which is why we are launching this important initiative in Brussels,” says Marc Naether, Head of Public Affairs at Bolt Benelux.
“We believe in creating a more inclusive city where everyone can move around easily and at an affordable cost. This discount for e-scooter and electric bike rides aims to facilitate mobility for the most socio-economically vulnerable individuals in the region.”
Only fill in a form
Taking advantage of the discount on the minute rate is very simple. Those who reside in one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region and meet the eligibility criteria mentioned above must fill out a form on the Bolt site.
The Bolt team will review the applications within seven days and confirm the users’ eligibility via email. Once the confirmation is received, the 50% discount will be automatically applied to the next Bolt e-scooter or e-bike rides.
To use Bolt, in most cases, you pay no starting rate and only a rat of 0,15 euros per minute. For a 10-minute ride, you pay 1,50 euros, or 0,70 euros, in this ‘Bolt for All’-initiative.
From 1 January 2024, only two, instead of eight e-scooter operators will be allowed in the Brussels region. Bolt is a candidate operator and will file a case.
