D’Ieteren, the Belgian VW Group importer, will offer the ID.3 and the ID.4 for under €40 000 in 2024. This significant price cut means Flemish private customers are eligible for the €5 000 EV subsidy, bringing down the total cost to the consumer to under €35 000. A discount of over €10 000 compared to the current pricing.
The €5 000 EV subsidy granted by the Flemish government in 2024 is proving to affect the electric car market in Belgium. Several new models have been announced with a starting price just under the €40 000 threshold, like the Renault Scénic E-Tech and the Maxus eUNIQ6, and now Volkswagen is one of the first to launch a unique price cut to become eligible.
Cheaper ID.3 and limited edition ID.4
Whereas the recently facelifted ID.3 had a starting price of €45 485 and the larger ID.4 was available for €46 260, both models will now be available for less than €40 000.
The ID.3 gets a new Pro Performance trim level, with a 150 kW (204 hp) motor and a 58 kWh battery (434 km WLTP range) for €39 990. With the traditional Brussels Motor Show discounts (even though the BMS has been canceled for 2024), the price drops to €37 990, or €32 990, with the subsidy included. Customers also get a 5-year warranty, an EDI home charging point discount, and a €500 trade-in bonus.

For the ID.4, Volkswagen is launching a Pure Limited Edition, based on the Pure Business trim and offering 361 km of range. This model will become available for €39 649, including special discounts, or €34 649 with the subsidy. However, only 200 ID.4 models will be available for this special price.
What about Brussels and Wallonia?
Although this price cut is aimed at Flemish private customers, the special pricing should be available to all Belgian customers. This still means a discount of up to €7 500 for drivers from Brussels or Wallonia hoping to score an ID.3 for a lower price.
