British Everrati electrifies rare Porsche Type 964 RSR

Owning an ultra-rare wide-bodied competition 1993 Porsche 964 RSR 3.8, of which only 51 were built, might be a distant dream for a classic car lover. A ‘Strassenversion’ with only 10 km on the odometer was sold by Bonhams in Abu Dhabi in November 2023 for $2 127 500. But what about an even faster and fully electric one at a fraction of that price?

British classic car conversion specialist Everrati uses an expertly restored Porsche 911 (964), which started its life as a narrow-bodied car, to create a perfect look-alike stuffed with 500 electric instead of 350 ICE-ed bhp that accelerates in 3.7 seconds to 100 km/h compared to the 4.8 of its iconic example.

Rolling piece of art

On its website, Everrati promises “creating a fully futureproofed example of sustainable luxury, a rolling piece of art, a vehicle that can be enjoyed by generations to come.” Without mentioning prices.

But as Everati advertises more down-to-earth electrified classics like a 1989 Porsche 911 Cabriolet for £290 000 (€335 023) or a Mercedes W113 SL ‘Pagoda’ for £330 000 (€381 231), you can imagine it won’t be a bargain.

Modified 964 donor car

Still, you’ll get a pretty unique car with all the latest bells and whistles you would expect in a sporty EV. To respect the lightweight, high-performance ‘ethos of the RSR’, the rear seats of the donation car are deleted, a rear roll cage is added, and lightweight driver and passenger seats are installed. These are covered in what Everrati calls ‘the world’s lowest carbon leather’ from its partner Bridge of Weir Leather.

On the exterior, it has 18-inch wheels from HRE and a carbon-fiber aero package, including a larger rear spoiler inspired by the 964 RSR and a revised front lower splitter. OEM-grade high-performance electric motors drive the rear wheels with 500 horsepower via a limited-slip Quaife ATB Torque biasing differential.

Range of 320 km

With the newly developed 67 kWh battery pack, the battery management system, and regenerative braking, you should get a range of about 320 km in optimal circumstances. The Gen2 package features improved cooling and a more refined version of its drive controller and software. And even with the heavy battery, the car remains close to its original weight distribution.

Also non-existent in the original predecessor is the electronically controlled active and adaptive suspension, which offers multiple settings to enhance driving dynamics, comfort, and performance, whether on the road or track.

All modern goodies

Other than the Spartan interior comfort of the original racing car, there is all the modern luxury you can wish for with heating and air conditioning, full GPS navigation, DAB+ radio, Bluetooth connections, and Apple Car Play. To monitor all this, you’ll get custom Porsche-inspired 5-gauge cluster dials that show vital information while maintaining an original appearance. But watch your driving style, as no ADAS whatsoever is mentioned.

So, suppose all of this stimulates your appetite. In that case, you can reserve your build at the Everrati website and wait for it to go into production at the company’s US partner, Aria Group in California, where it’s prepared for delivery worldwide.
