Voyah launches Courage SUV EV in the Benelux

Voyah Benelux has announced that the new Courage electric SUV is available to order. The company is the importer of Chinese brands, including Voyah, Dongfeng, and Mhero, all of which are issued by the Dongfeng Motor Corporation.

Dongfeng is one of the oldest and most significant Chinese car manufacturers, producing approximately 3.5 million vehicles annually. The brand Voyah is focused on fully electric cars in the Benelux region.

Courage

The new Courage is a new 5-seater SUV, totally electric, available in two versions. There is a rear-wheel-driven Business Edition, featuring a 215 kW electric motor, and the Performance Edition, which has two motors (160 kW and 160 kW) that combine for a maximum power output of 320 kW.

Both cars feature an 80 kWh battery pack with LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) technology. AC charging can be done via an 11 kW on-board charger or DC fast charging up to 200 kW. AC charging takes some 9 hours (0-100%), DC charging takes 32 minutes (10-80%).

With a WLTP-rated consumption of 18.9 kWh per 100 km, the RWD has a range of 476 km. The AWD version has a 20.2 kWh consumption per 100 km and needs to be charged after 440 km. With the two-wheel drive, one can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 6.8 seconds; the four-wheel drive does it in 4.9 seconds. Top speed turns around 200kph.

The Courage is 4,725 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,650 mm high. It sits on a 2,900 mm wheelbase. The loading area can be varied between 527 and 1,400 liters. The cars weigh 2,143 and 2,265 kg, respectively. Both can carry less than 400 kg on board, which seems a little bit tight. On the other hand, a 1,700 kg trailer can be towed.

Safe and comfortable

Despite the good performance, the Couage focuses on safety and comfort. According to the EuroNCAP crash test, it is one of the safest in its class, and a plethora of ADAS driver aid systems are at the driver’s disposal.

Inside, everything has been designed with a focus on comfort and well-being. The leather-upholstered front seats are heated, ventilated, and feature a massage function. In the center of the dashboard, the infotainment screen is a 15-inch OLED display, and a head-up display is also available.

The Performance Model also features CDC suspension (continuous damping), a heated steering wheel, alcantara patches on the seats, and heated seats also in the rear. The cars have an overall 5-year warranty (or 150,000 km), while the battery is 8 years guaranteed (or 200,000 km).

The starting price in Belgium is €44,990 for the Business Edition, and the Performance costs some €5,000 more.

“With the Courage, we bring an SUV on the market that surpasses all expectations,” says Kjeld Riegen, CEO at Voyah Benelux. “The car is designed to make every drive a premium experience by combining luxury with technology and safety. We aim to offer an affordable premium package that can attract families as well as professional drivers.”
