Fastned surpasses milestone of 50 fast-charging stations in Belgium

Fastned, the European pioneer in fast charging, opened two new charging stations this month – one in Genk (carpool parking E314) and one in Veurne (near E40) – thereby surpassing the milestone of 50 fast-charging stations in Belgium.

This year, the company opened 16 new charging stations in Belgium. The two recently opened stations are both equipped with four fast chargers, each capable of eight charging points, with a maximum charging speed of 400 kW.

Charging convenience

One of the most significant milestones of 2025 was the opening of the flagship stations in Gentbrugge in September, on both sides of the E17 highway between Ghent and Antwerp. These fully electric service stations – the first for Fastned – each offer 16 charging points, along with staffed shops and high-quality amenities.

In November, Fastned won a tender for a similar flagship project in Saint-Yvi (Brittany), France, the first location in France where you can charge only electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, Fastned continues to focus on increasing charging convenience. It’s building the service stations of the future: places where people can recharge while on the go, with high-quality, accessible facilities for everyone.

Wallonia

In collaboration with the Luxembourg intermunicipal company Idelux, Fastned is making a breakthrough in electric mobility in the province of Luxembourg. In Wallonia, there is an apparent lack of charging infrastructure, and thanks to an innovative tender by Idelux, the largest ever by an intermunicipal company, Fastned can now help fill this gap.

In the coming months and years, Fastned will open 11 new stations along the province’s busiest routes. The Galaxia station, located along the E411 near the Euro Space Center, will feature a shop and a fast-food restaurant. Fastned is building unmanned kiosks and restrooms at seven other stations.

Fastned opened its first Belgian station in 2020, at Ostend Airport. Since then, the network has grown into one of the largest fast-charging networks strategically located along busy access roads in the country. By 2030, Fastned aims to have 1,000 stations across Europe, with more than 100 in Belgium.
