This weekend, from 16 to 18 January 2026, Kortrijk Xpo will host the 18th edition of Velofollies, the must-visit event for active cyclists and cycling enthusiasts.
With over 300 exhibitors and nearly twice as many brands represented, the show will offer a complete range of bicycles, from recreational and utility models — e-bikes, urban bikes, cargo bikes, folding bikes — to performance-oriented gravel, BMX, MTB, and road bikes.
Velofollies will feature workshops (on trends, gear choice, e-bikes, gravel, safety, and travel), meet-and-greet sessions with professional and former pro cyclists, and e-bike test rides. More than 25 brands and 150+ e-bike models available for testing on an indoor track with gradients and terrain variations.
Continued popularity of e-bikes
Visitors will also find a wide selection of components, clothing, accessories, services, and cycling tourism options. What’s special about velofolies is that the event combines a market overview, trend-spotlighting, and community experience — unlike purely professional trade shows. Last year, 39,071 visitors attended the show — almost 40,000 cycling enthusiasts over three days.
The Belgian cycling market enjoyed a strong start last year, with a boosted demand for new bikes. The continued popularity of e-bikes also contributes to market growth: the latest models offer improved battery technology, longer ranges, faster charging, sleek designs, and smart features such as GPS, heart rate monitoring, and theft prevention. E-bikes are also making their way into the performance segment, making hilly rides, long distances, and headwinds more manageable.
Comfort and control
Road and mountain bikes continue to focus on performance, with aerodynamics and lightweight designs leading the way. Bikes are increasingly designed as integrated systems, where frame, wheels, cockpit, and accessories work seamlessly together for maximum efficiency and aerodynamic advantage.
Safety innovations, such as reflective or illuminated coatings that improve visibility in autumn and winter, are also gaining popularity.
Gravel bikes reflect the same trends: wider tires, integrated suspension for comfort and control, optimized drivetrains, and lightweight, versatile designs suitable for daily use or bikepacking.
For enthusiasts and pros
Velofollies 2026 will highlight the three leading component suppliers: Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo. Visitors can explore the latest groupsets, shifting systems, and high-end electronic and mechanical innovations suitable for both amateurs and pros.
Velofollies is widely recognized as one of the largest cycling trade shows in Europe and the largest bike fair in the Benelux region, especially for consumers. Eurobike, in Frankfurt, is traditionally seen as the world’s biggest cycling trade show, but it focuses more on B2B and industry professionals.
