On the 1st of March, Emmanuel Al Nawakil starts as the new CEO of Renault Belgium and Luxembourg. He will succeed Martin Domise, who becomes Vice President, Renault Sales & Operations Europe-Maghreb.
Emmanuel Al Nawakil was born in 1979 and studied at the E.M. Lyon Business School to become master of Science in Management. He started his career in the automotive sector in 2006, working for PSA Peugeot-Citroën in various functions, including controlling, client relations, and product.
In 2010, he transferred to Seat to become Regional Manager for Spain, France, Italy, and the Benelux. Within the VW Group, he moved to Asia in 2017, first as a retail manager in China, later as director of sales and product planning in India.
In 2022, he transferred to the Renault Group, becoming Vice President, Sales & Operations, at the Alpine Cars division. One year later, he’s already traveling back to Asia as Vice President Sales & Marketing for Renault Korea.
And now he will return to Europe to lead the Renault group’s activities in Belgium and Luxembourg.
From politics to automotive
His predecessor and current CEO of Renault Belgium and Luxembourg, Martin Domise, was born in 1989 in Amiens and studied at the ‘Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales’ (HEC) in Paris. Before entering the automotive world not so long ago, in 2018, Domise was a local political representative in the city of Amiens and the Hauts-de-France region.
With this political background, Domise is charged with managing relationships with the French Senate and local authorities at Renault’s Public Affairs department. A year later, in 2019, he became Executive Secretary of Renault’s Operational Director Europe.
In 2021, he transferred inside the company to Renault Retail Group, where he became Director of the Paris Hub and also Director of Transformation. Since September 2022, Domise has been appointed Director of Renault Brand and Director of Renault Belgium and Luxembourg.
