From Inchcape to Beherman: Roosen takes wheel at Benelux importer

Beherman Motors has appointed Michael Roosen as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing in a seasoned automotive executive who is making the move from Inchcape Belux, where he was CEO from 2019  to 2024.

Roosen is to lead the Benelux importer and distributor into its next growth phase. No coincidence, just as the company expands its footprint in the Netherlands.

Only days earlier, Beherman Motors was appointed as the official importer of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation vehicles in the Netherlands, completing its coverage of the entire Benelux region.

The move extends its existing role in Belgium and Luxembourg and marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to scale its commercial vehicle activities across the region.

Succeeding Siegfried Van Brabant

Roosen succeeds Siegfried Van Brabandt, a seasoned commercial vehicle executive with more than two decades of experience in the automotive sector.

Van Brabandt began his career at Ford Credit before moving into the truck industry within the Volvo Group, where he held several senior roles, including sales director positions at both Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks in the Benelux. He later became managing director of Renault Trucks Belux, after serving as Director Vehicle Sales & Marketing at Volvo Trucks Belux.

Under Van Brabandt’s leadership, Beherman Motors strengthened its position as an importer and distributor of light and medium-duty commercial vehicles, while also laying the groundwork for its expansion into electric mobility, notably with the introduction of Farizon in the region.

The incoming CEO brings extensive experience from the automotive distribution sector. Most recently, Roosen served as CEO of Inchcape Belux from 2019 to 2024, overseeing the development of major brands including Toyota, Lexus, and BYD.

In that role, he was responsible for managing national distribution operations, dealer networks, and brand positioning across Belgium and Luxembourg, gaining significant exposure to both traditional automotive business models and the fast-evolving electric vehicle landscape.

Signing up BYD

His track record at Inchcape also includes working with emerging EV players such as BYD, giving him firsthand experience in introducing new mobility brands into the European market—an expertise that aligns closely with Beherman Motors’ current ambitions.

At Beherman, Roosen is expected to focus on further expanding the company’s activities in the Benelux and on strengthening its portfolio of commercial vehicle brands, including FUSO, Farizon, and Piaggio Commercial.

A central pillar of his mandate will be to accelerate the transition to sustainable, fully electric mobility solutions for professional customers, a segment that is rapidly gaining importance amid tightening emissions regulations and growing demand for zero-emission logistics.

Broader strategic shift

The leadership change reflects a broader strategic shift within Beherman Motors. While Van Brabandt’s tenure was characterized by building and structuring the organization, including the rollout of new brands and networks, Roosen’s appointment signals a move toward scaling operations and driving commercial growth.

“I look forward to building further on the strong foundations that have been laid in recent years,” Roosen said in a statement, emphasizing the company’s ambition to reinforce its position in the Benelux market and support customers in their transition to sustainable mobility.

Beherman Motors, headquartered in Bornem, Belgium, and with operations in the Netherlands, has nearly a century of experience in automotive distribution. With Roosen at the helm, the company is now entering a new phase focused on growth, electrification, and consolidation of its role as a key partner in professional mobility across the region.
