Massimo Fumarola is the new VP Strategy & Product Performance at Alpine

Alpine announces today the appointment of Massimo Fumarola as Vice President Strategy & Product Performance, effective on 1st April 2026. He will join the Alpine Management Committee and report directly to Philippe Krief, the brand’s Chief Executive Officer.

Sovany Ang, who previously held this position, is taking on other responsibilities within Renault Group.

30 years of international experience

“With over 30 years of international experience in the automotive industry, Massimo Fumarola brings deep expertise across product and portfolio strategy, project management, product development, and premium brands,” says the press release.

His career spans leadership roles within some of the most renowned automotive groups, including IVECO, CNH Industrial, Ferrari, Audi, Lamborghini, and, most recently, as CEO of Morgan Motor Company, where he led the strategic transformation and relaunch of the iconic British brand.

Since joining the Renault Group in 2025, Massimo Fumarola has served as Director of Renault Couture, while also holding broader product and project management responsibilities.

In his new role, he will be responsible for defining Alpine’s long‑term plans and product strategy, ensuring consistency between brand DNA, technological innovation, new market trends, and future vehicle development.

Technical foundation

“With a Master’s Degree in Engineering of Industrial Technologies at Politecnico di Milano and an MBA from Cranfield University, Massimo Fumarola combines strong technical foundations with proven strategic leadership, solid international profile, and P&L accountability,” Alpine states.

“His understanding of the industry, as well as his strong background in high‑performance, premium, and luxury products, will play a key role in supporting Alpine’s ambition to strengthen its positioning as a distinctive, high‑performance electric brand.”

Word of the CEO

“First of all, I would like to thank Sovany warmly for her dedication, commitment, and support over the last few years. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with her and her team. While I wish her all the best, I will not forget her, and she is now next door,” Philippe Krief, Alpine’s CEO, stated.

“I am now looking forward to working more closely with Massimo. His solid expertise, combining product, strategic vision, and customer experience with high-end sports car brands, will certainly help us deploy our new strategy and future product portfolio. Massimo is joining at an exciting time for the brand, as we are just starting to unveil our Alpine Performance Platform, which will be our strongest asset for our upcoming product range,” Krief added.
