Farizon expands SV range with double cab and taxi variants

Farizon’s SuperVan, or SV, is getting two new model variants. The mid-sized van is now able to accommodate up to seven passengers in the Taxi configuration, or up to six people in the Combi spec, which still retains a functional cargo space of up to 5 m³. Both variants were introduced in Hong Kong and will likely also come to Europe.

Farizon is Geely’s commercial vehicle brand and is distributed in Belgium by Beherman, which also imports Fuso and Piaggio’s Porter compact commercial vehicles. Up until now, the electric Farizon SV was only available as a panel van, but the range is expanding with two new passenger-focused variants.

SV Taxi with seven seats

The Farizon SV Taxi made its debut at the Hong Kong Auto Expo, where the company announced a 1,000-vehicle order by local taxi company Big Bee. The SV Taxi has a power sliding side door with no B-pillar, like the panel van, with an additional cabin step to facilitate ingress and egress.

In the rear, double doors provide access to 630 liters of cargo space with all seven seats in place. According to Farizon, that’s enough for six large suitcases. The interior has a 2-2-3 configuration, allowing easy access to the third row thanks to the central aisle in the second row. Other features include USB-C charging ports, cupholders, and storage boxes for all rows.

SV Combi with up to 6 seats and 5 m³ of cargo space

The Farizon SV Combi takes on the role of a double-cab van, combining extra passenger capacity with a valuable cargo space. The SV Combi is available with five or six seats, with up to 3.8 m³ of cargo space for the L1 version (5 meters long), or 5 m³ for the longer L2 body style (5.5 meters long).

Both models keep the same 83 kWh battery, which provides up to 370 km of range in the SV Taxi, or up to 319 km for the SV Combi. Charging from 30 to 80% takes 30 minutes (up to 140 kW DC). A 90-hp electric motor powers the front wheels, providing a top speed of 135 km/h.

Coming to Europe?

The Farizon SV Taxi and Combi have already been launched in China. It seems likely that both new variants of the Farizon SuperVan will come to Europe, but the company has not yet provided a timeline. “The company will continue to assess opportunities for them in other global markets as it progresses its roll-out of the SV panel van in export markets around the world,” cites the press release.
