Dott chooses Maxus for its service vans in Belgium

Micromobility operator Dott, which has shared e-scooters and e-bikes in several Belgian cities, has acquired 15 electric vans from Maxus to use as service vehicles. The vehicles were delivered by the leasing company Athlon.

The blue-and-red shared e-scooters from Dott are becoming common in Belgian cities like Brussels, Ghent, and Liège.

Those bikes and scooters need to be gathered and moved around the cities, so Dott has chosen the fully-electric route. Fifteen Maxus vans have been delivered to the company, of which five larger eDeliver9s and ten smaller eDeliver3s.

All-in-one

Dott has chosen to acquire the vans through a leasing formula, with Athlon supplying the vehicles and taking care of insurance and maintenance in an all-in-one solution.

“Although there is no tax incentive for commercial electric vehicles yet, we advise our customers to take the first steps now with low-emission zones becoming larger and more stringent,” says Steve Somers, LCV Specialist at Athlon. The leasing firm has seen an increase in demand for electric vans of 150% compared to 2021.

Brussels Motor Show

The Maxus eDeliver3 and the eDeliver9 offer a range of over 200 km, which is plenty for city use, where energy consumption remains relatively low.

The Chinese brand is a part of SAIC, which owns MG, and is imported to Belgium by Astara Western Europe. The latter also has Hyundai and Kia in its portfolio.

Maxus has been importing commercial vehicles to Belgium since 2019 and is expanding its offer with the MIFA 9 electric minivan, which will be present at the Brussels Motor Show 2023.
