Harley-Davidson launches LiveWire One in Europe for €25.000

Harley-Davidson has finally opened reservations for the One electric motorcycle from its LiveWire sub-brand. It will cost around €25 000 and will initially be available in Europe, with deliveries starting in April.

The LiveWire One is initially launching in just four European countries: Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the UK. No Belgian pricing or launch date has been announced yet. As a comparison, €25 000 euros gets you most of the Harley-Davidson Cruiser model range.

Reservations for €100

Those who want to secure one of the first European examples of the LiveWire One can book a reservation for €100, which also gets you priority delivery starting in April. Configuration options are limited, with just three colors (gray, blue, and black), although more accessories should become available via Harley dealerships.

Harley drivers show somewhat to be reluctant to go electric. Harley-Davidson has had a less-than-successful entry into the electric motorcycle market. After production delays, even before the Covid-19-related woes, and a disappointing IPO via a Spac, the iconic motorcycle brand hopes to turn its fortunes around with a European launch of its first electric bike.

Cheaper than the original LiveWire

The LiveWire One is the slightly reworked and, more importantly, cheaper version of the initial Harley-branded LiveWire. It has the same 105 hp electric motor and 15,5 kWh battery, offering a 235 km city and 145 km combined range. It accelerates from 0-100 km/hour in just three seconds. DC fast-charging is available, with a 20-80% recharge in around 30 minutes.

But the LiveWire One was almost $8 000 cheaper than the original model when it was launched in the United States, with a price of around $22 000 dollars. Now, the brand has announced European pricing and the first delivery dates.

Cheaper model coming

A second LiveWire model is already on the cards with the cheaper S2 Del Mar, announced in 2022 and offered similar performance to the One for a lower price due to a more straightforward and more ‘naked’ design. No European launch date has been announced yet, but expect a sub-€20 000 price.
