First Silence S04 rolls out of assembly line in Barcelona

Spanish scooter and micro-mobility EVs manufacturer Silence has officially rolled the first production models out of the assembly line in Barcelona. Built by Acciona in a state-of-the-art, 60 000 m2 factory, the first batch of Silence S04s are heading to customers.

Silence is a newcomer to the game of micro-mobility EVs, or so-called ‘nano cars’. The first production models of its Silence S04, an electric micro-car with swappable batteries, have now been built.

Barcelona-born

Silence has partnered with Acciona, another Spanish company, to produce its first electric quadricycle. Located in Barcelona’s Zona Franca, the assembly line is part of a state-of-the-art, 60 000 m2 plant. Everything from chassis construction to painting is carried out in Barcelona, but, at the moment, batteries are still being produced by Silence in Sant Boi de Llobregat. In a future phase, battery production will occur at Acciona’s plant.

The Spanish company’s first ‘nano car’, the Silence S04, is an electric four-wheeled vehicle designed for urban driving. The two-seater model offers spaciousness for passengers and up to 247 liters of storage, all in less than 2,3 m of length.

The Spanish Silence S04 ‘nano car’ offers a unique battery-swapping system on a trolley, so you can take your battery anywhere and use it to power tools and appliances /Silence

At first, Silence is offering the L7e version, which can drive at up to 85 km/hour and is equipped with two batteries (2 x 5,6 kWh) for 149 km of range. Later, it will be followed by the L6e, a one-battery version with a reduced power of 6 kW for a smaller top speed of 45 km/hour.

In Belgium, Silence is distributed by Astara. The Silence S04 L7e, which can be seen at the brand’s ‘Urban Store’ in Brussels, is available from €16 285.
