Opel has decided to bless the current Corsa, which is nearing the end of its lifespan, with a flagship GSE version. The electric hot hatch is coming later in 2026 and will likely share its internals with its French and Italian siblings, the Peugeot E-208 GTi and the Lancia Ypsilon HF.
Back in 2022, Opel introduced the GSe label: a sporty sub-brand focusing on electrified models. In 2025, the label was revamped, adding the capital ‘E’ and now building high-performance electric vehicles, starting with the Mokka GSE and hinting at a future Corsa GSE with the Vision Gran Turismo concept car.

Current Corsa gets the GSE treatment
And although the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo hinted at the next generation of Opel’s compact hatchback, likely coming in 2027, the Stellantis brand has opted to supercharge the current model after all. A first teaser image shows a three-spoke wheel with Corsa GSE branding, in the trademark GSE color scheme: white and black, with flashes of yellow.
No technical details are being shared by Opel yet, with only the promise that the new Opel Corsa GSE will be available to order in the course of 2026. But, as ever with Stellantis, the Corsa GSE won’t be a standalone product. There are already multiple models from its sister brands that give us a sense of what we might expect.

280 hp and 350 km of range?
The most direct comparisons will be the Peugeot E-208 GTi and Lancia Ypsilon HF, both electric hot hatchbacks in the same segment as the Corsa. They feature a 280-hp electric motor powering the front axle, with a limited-slip differential for improved traction while cornering. A 54 kWh battery provides around 350 km of WLTP range and can fast-charge in 30 minutes.
Likely to start at just under €40,000
In terms of pricing, only the more “premium” Ypsilon HF is currently for sale at just over €40,000. And with the bigger Opel Mokka GSE starting at €41,690, a sub-€40,000 price tag seems likely. That only leaves us with the question of when the Corsa GSE will launch and what it will look like. We’ll likely know more in the coming months.
