Skoda Peaq spotted: flagship 7-seat EV steps into the spotlight

The Skoda Peaq is coming mid-2026 as not only the largest electric model in the range, but the largest Skoda full stop. It promises more than 600 kilometers of range, seats up to 7 people, and should also be the most comfortable Skoda yet. In preparation for its full unveiling, the Czech brand has snapped some pictures of a prototype in camouflage.

Skoda is on a roll currently. While the Volkswagen Group is struggling, the Czech brand achieved record results last year. Its value-for-money positioning has made Skoda an attractive alternative for both mainstream and premium brands. But in addition to that, Skoda has found the right balance between combustion and electric models.

With a length of nearly 4.9 meters and space for 7, the Skoda Peaq will become the electric equivalent of the Kodiaq / Skoda

Electric brother to the Kodiaq

Whereas the initial plan was to offer six BEVs, Skoda has reduced that to four in the short term. Right now, we have the C-segment Elroq and the D-segment Enyaq, but two more models are coming on either end of the range in 2026. The Skoda Epiq will become the entry-level electric SUV, while the Peaq will sit at the top of the range.

Now, Skoda has unveiled more details about the Peaq. The electric equivalent of the 7-seater Kodiaq will be even larger than its combustion counterpart: 4,874 mm in length, or 116 mm longer than the Kodiaq. The difference in wheelbase is even larger: 2,965 mm, or 174 mm more than the Kodiaq.

This not only clears space for all 7 passengers, but also allows for the large battery pack to sit between the axles. The trunk is also the largest of any Skoda: from 299 liters in 7-seat configuration to 1,010 liters with 5 seats in place.

Over 600 km of WLTP range

Speaking of the battery: there are no surprises there. The Skoda Peaq sits on the same MEB platform as the Elroq, Enyaq, and many other VW Group models. Three options will be available at launch: the Peaq 60, 9,0 and 90x.

The entry-level Skoda Peaq gets a 63 kWh battery pack, promising over 460 km of WLTP range. A 150 kW (204 hp) motor powers the rear wheels, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 160 km/h.

Next up is the Skoda Peaq 90, with a 91 kWh battery pack and over 600 km of range. This is the same battery used in the Volkswagen ID.7 and ID. Buzz.

This variant features a 210 kW (286 hp) rear motor, with a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. The 90x gets a second motor on the front axle, with a total power of 220 kW (299 hp) and four-wheel drive.

Extra comfort features and an all-new infotainment system

Other features of the Skoda Peaq include massage seats, a premium Sonos audio system, the largest-ever panoramic glass roof with electrochromatic dimming, and an all-new Android infotainment system with a 13.6-inch vertical screen. This is the first time that Skoda will use a vertical screen.

For more technical details, pricing, and, of course, a full look at the uncovered design of the Skoda Peaq, we’ll have to wait until mid-2026 for the full unveiling.
