Kia is holding its second EV Day on February 27, 2025, where it will showcase its newest electric models and its electric strategy for the coming years. Already announced to be present are the production-ready EV4, the PV5 electric light commercial vehicle, and the EV2 Concept, a preview of a more compact electric model within the range.
Kia’s first EV Day was held in Korea in 2023, where it showed the Concept EV3, Concept EV4, and the EV5, alongside the already presented EV6 and EV9 models. The Korean manufacturer is returning the format for 2025, with a new EV Day to be held in Tarragona, Spain, on February 27.

Kia EV4 in production guise
And again, multiple new products for Kia’s electric range will be showcased. The first will be the production version of the EV4, a compact electric sedan likely built on the same variant of the E-GMP platform as the EV3 SUV.
Thanks to its lower, more streamlined shape, the Kia EV4 will likely exceed the EV3’s maximum range of 605 km thanks to a large (especially for the segment) 81.4 kWh battery. Alongside the sedan version, an EV4 hatchback is also expected and can be seen as the electric counterpart of the popular Kia Ceed.

Kia PV5: first commercial vehicle for the brand
Next up is the PV5, Kia’s first light commercial vehicle, built on the new PBV architecture (Platform Beyond Vehicle). The PV5 is a midsize van that will be available in both cargo and passenger versions, thanks to a flexible interior arrangement. High-roof and Chassis-Cab body styles were also announced earlier.
In terms of powertrain specifications, Kia targets a WLTP range of 400 km thanks to an NMC battery, but the capacity is still unknown. A cheaper LFP option was also being considered. More info will likely come in a couple of weeks’ time at the EV Day 2025 in Spain. The PV5 will be the first in a full commercial vehicle range of 5 PBVs.

A more affordable electric model
Finally, Kia has announced the EV2 Concept, which will debut at EV Day 2025, with a couple of teaser photos already on show. It precedes a production vehicle that will slot in below the EV3, likely as part of the electric B segment, where it will compete with models like the Renault 5 E-Tech, Peugeot E-208, and the upcoming VW ID.2/Cupra Raval/Skoda Epiq.
Kia already announced a January 2026 launch date for its most miniature electric model, which should cost less than €30,000.
Strategy and PBV architecture explained
Along with the product news, Kia’s EV Day 2025 will also lay out the company’s “expanded electrification strategy, which is set to transform the global EV market.” The overall PBV strategy, which is an entirely new business segment for the manufacturer, will also be explained, along with a showcase of the PBV platform and its skateboard architecture. Set your calendars!
