Mercedes to launch 21 new cars in the next two years

After promising ‘dozens’of new or refreshed models by the end of 2027, Mercedes has unveiled more details of its product offensive for the coming two years. The German manufacturer will launch over a dozen all-new models, eight facelifts, and two concept cars that will further expand the model range.

Mercedes has faced a rough 2024, with lower revenue figures than expected. This has prompted the company to cut costs and focus more on more expensive models with bigger margins rather than absolute volume. But that doesn’t mean the launch of new models will slow down—quite the contrary.

During its annual results conference a couple of weeks ago, Mercedes promised “dozens” of new or refreshed models by the end of 2027. The company calls it the “biggest ever product launch campaign.” Now, more details have emerged as to which models we can expect.

2025: CLA first

The all-new CLA will kick off this product offensive. Mercedes’ newest entry-level model (as the A-Class and B-Class will disappear) will be somewhat of a revolutionary car for the manufacturer, as it debuts the new product strategy with shared combustion and electric platforms (not counting the G-Class), and new efficiency milestones developed from the Vision EQXX concept car.

It promises a range of up to 750 km from an 85 kWh battery in all-electric guise, while a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine powers the hybrid model. A new CLA Shooting Brake is also expected, with the same drivetrains as the saloon/four-door coupé model.

Electric GLC to replace the EQC

Next is the facelifted GLC, which will also become available with a fully electric drivetrain, effectively replacing the EQC. The latter was Mercedes’ first mass-production EV of the modern era, but poor efficiency and a lack of updates made it lose ground to competitors.

The new GLC “with EQ Technology” will also feature a more conventional design, which is another change in Mercedes’s electrification strategy.

The second-generation Mercedes GLB will also arrive before the end of 2025, as the third model on the MMA platform (after the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake).

It will likely share its hybrid and electric drivetrains with the CLA, although with less efficiency due to its boxy shape, which offers a more roomy interior. Its main target is the very popular BMW (i)X1.

2026: electric C-Class, E-Class, and upgraded S-Class and EQS

For 2026, Mercedes has already promised an electric C-Class, an all-new fully electric E-Class (based on the facelifted ICE model?), and a significant upgrade for the S-Class, which will be on sale for longer than initially planned, as well as a facelift for the GLE and GLS SUVs.

The EQS will also receive a comprehensive facelift, possibly adopting the S-Class name, with a new 800 V electric architecture to increase efficiency and charging speed.

The technically related EQS SUV, EQE saloon, and EQE  SUV will likely follow shortly after. The all-new V-Class electric van family is also expected next year and will be previewed by the Vision V concept car.

2027: smaller G-Class and AMG’s own electric models

Finally, in addition to new and electrified generations of existing models, Mercedes plans to add entirely new vehicles to the range. A smaller G-Class is due in 2027, based on the GLB’s MMA platform. It is meant to attract lifestyle customers with a smaller budget.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-AMG is busy developing its all-electric models. Two cars are expected: an electric successor to the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, and an all-new SUV coupé, possibly called the AMG GT SUV. The saloon model will come first in 2026, while the SUV is expected in 2027, with power figures upward of 1,000 hp.
