Lynk & Co 900 launches in China as brand’s flagship plug-in hybrid SUV

Lynk & Co, the Geely-Volvo-founded brand now operating under Zeekr, has officially launched its most ambitious product: the Lynk & Co 900. It’s a full-size plug-in hybrid SUV positioned to take on China’s fiercely competitive upper market.

The 900, which was already unveiled at the beginning of the year, marks a bold step for the brand. The SUV aims to distinguish itself from sibling marques within the Geely ecosystem, including Volvo and Zeekr.

Living room SUV

The 009 was officially introduced at a launch event in Shanghai. The six-seat SUV is available at a limited-time promotional price of RMB 289,900 (€ 35,110), undercutting its previously announced pre-sale price.

Built on the SPA Evo platform—a clear evolution of the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) shared with the Volvo XC90—the 900 is 5.24 meters long and just under two meters wide. The vehicle’s 3.16-meter wheelbase focuses on maximizing interior space, while the 2+2+2 seat layout adds flexibility and comfort.

The newest addition to the Lynk&Co family focuses strongly on the Asian trend of living room cars. Second-row captain chairs can rotate up to 180 degrees, and all seats are integrated into a completely flat floor configuration — a result of moving away from traditional driveline packaging.

Cinematic experience

For the in-cabin experience, a massive 30-inch 6K infotainment screen dominates the dashboard, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 chip. Rear passengers benefit from a ceiling-mounted entertainment display and a secondary control screen.

A total of 42 storage compartments are spread throughout the interior, while the rear cargo space offers 300 liters plus a hidden 20-liter storage compartment.

The SUV’s flagship powertrain pushes performance boundaries for plug-in hybrids. The top variant combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with three electric motors—one at the front and two at the rear—delivering a system output of 650 kW (872 hp) and a 0–100 km/h time of 4.3 seconds.

More than 220 km EV range

Battery capacity peaks at 52 kWh (more than the base version of an all-electric Volvo EX30), yielding a pure electric range of up to 280 kilometers, albeit under the favorable Chinese CLTC homologation conditions. Lower-tier versions offer smaller batteries and slightly lower performance, but still boast strong specs: up to 711 hp and 220 kilometers of EV range.

The SUV also debuts the G-Pilot H7 autonomous driving package, with Nvidia’s Drive Thor chip powering its innovative driving system on upper trims. This includes full Navigate-on-Autopilot (NOA) functionality, an assistant for highway driving that facilitates lane changes, intelligent cruise control, and so on. To reinforce these semi-autonomous capabilities, a roof-mounted LiDAR unit comes standard on all versions.

The Lynk & Co 900 competes with premium Chinese rivals like the Li Auto L9, Denza N9, and Aito M9. Early demand suggests strong market traction: over 10,000 orders were recorded within one hour of launch, according to the company. Two months after the merger between Zeekr and Lynk & Co, the 900 is the first new model launched under the combined structure.
