‘China exported more than 15,000 new energy buses in 2024’

De Lijn has ordered 92 electric buses from Chinese bus maker BYD. The order earns De Lijn and the Flemish government strong criticism for not doing enough to support its bus builders /De Lijn

According to the Chinese bus industry website Chinabuses.org, Chinese manufacturers exported more than 15,000 'New Energy' buses in 2024, including electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell buses. This represents an increase of 28.33% over 2023, with a sharp upswing in December 2024 alone.
