Stellantis is launching the new Jeep Compass 4xe, in Europe, a successor to the current PHEV, which promises enhanced off-road capability. That includes a 195 hp engine, a 10 mm raised suspension, a dedicated off-road driving mode, dual off-road bumpers, an anti-scratch Bumper Shield, a matte anti-glare hood sticker, a rear tow hook, and 19-inch wheels with higher sidewall tires. Deliveries are expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Since its launch in 2006, Stellantis says, the Jeep Compass has become a global success in the compact SUV segment, with over 2.5 million units sold worldwide. Jeep formally unveiled the 2026 Jeep Compass for the European market in May 2025, confirming it will offer mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid (4xe), and fully electric (BEV) versions.
Fully electric in Q4 2025
Orders for the new Compass, including the BEV drivetrain, have already opened in Europe. The fully electric version of the new, third-generation Jeep Compass is expected to arrive in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2025.
At the outside, the 4xe plug-in variant retains Jeep’s boxy aesthetic with a modern interpretation to emphasize its ruggedness, and bold identity. It is built on the new Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, a modular architecture shared with other vehicles like the Peugeot 3008/5008 and Citroën C5 Aircross.

The new Compass gets flatter LED headlights, revised seven-slot grille, X-shaped LED taillights connected by a light bar. The 4xe model has specific styling elements like dual off-road bumpers, an anti-scratch Bumper Shield, and a matte anti-glare hood sticker.
Grown in measurements
It has grown in measurements with a significant increase in length compared to the outgoing model of about 150 mm to 4552 mm. It’s also wider (now 1870 mm), and with a wheelbase increased by 159 mm it offers more legroom (+55 mm rear) and cargo space (550 L rear load volume).
Meanwhile, those with engough ‘range anxiety’ to exclude the BEV version that is to come later, have already the option of the new PHEV which gets a redesigned plug-in hybrid system for enhanced efficiency and performance. The 1.6 liter turbo engine is said to deliver 195 hp, with the electric motor on the rear axle, providing the 4WD capabilities.
50+60 km of electric range?
It will likely come with a 19 kWh PHEV battery (per Italian source), matching other Stellantis PHEVs, offering likely a pure electric range of approximately 50-60 km WLTP. Although a precise WLTP electric-only range for the 2026 4xe is still being detailed.
Jeep loves to ‘paint’ its Compass offroad capabilities in its lates press release. “This model introduces a suite of features designed to optimize performance in rugged environments. Key changes include a suspension raised by 10 mm, which improves ground clearance, and a set of off-road bumpers that enhance approach, departure, and breakover angles — specifically 27°, 31°, and 16°, respectively. These enhancements allow for greater agility and confidence when tackling uneven surfaces or steep inclines.”

However, the most distinctive update of this version is found inside the cabin, Jeep says. “The interior of the Compass 4xe has been reimagined to meet the specific needs of outdoor enthusiasts.”
“Materials have been carefully selected to maximize resistance and practicality. The seat fabric is coated in polyurethane, making it twice as resistant as conventional cloth and significantly easier to clean.” Also special attention goes to heavy-duty rubber mats that provide superior protection from mud, gravel, water, and debris.
The new 4xe also gets an advanced Select-Terrain® system, a hallmark of Jeep’s heritage featuring an additional dedicated off-road driving mode, offering optimal traction management across a variety of challenging surfaces.
Prices for the new 2026 4xe model aren’t specified yet, but as current pricing starts at €37.810 and up to €40.785 for the Summit version, it’s expected the new prices could be significantly higher in the range of €45.000 – €46.000.
