Xpeng, distributed in most EU countries by Hedin Mobility Group, is opening the order books of the new G6 and G9 in Europe from this week on. The G6 Long Range is available from €46,990 in Belgium and €45,990 in Luxembourg, the G9 Long Range retails from €63,990 and €61,990.
The G6 and G9 Standard Range will be available to order and deliver from Q1 2026. Xpeng has refreshed its flagship SUV, the G9. Interestingly, as a stakeholder, Volkswagen intends to build derivatives of the model.
Next-generation electric luxury
And Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng is quite proud of the company’s achievement. “The Xpeng G9 of 2025 is not just an SUV – it’s a statement of what next-generation electric luxury should feel like,” he says. “Every detail reflects our tireless search for elegance, innovation, and environmental leadership.”

On the outside, the G9 largely retains a status quo, adopting the X Robot Face 3.0 design from the predecessor and equal measurements (4,891 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a 2,998 mm wheelbase).
Still, some new design elements are introduced, including electric suction doors, an automatic tailgate, and 20-inch five-spoke rims. The new front stands out for its geometric design, in which a 3D radar is integrated.
The interior setup includes a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel and dual 14.96-inch screens, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset, the tech company’s fourth-generation automotive cockpit platform.
This should enhance voice recognition and driver monitoring, among other things. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were already introduced in the 2024 model year update.
Ultimate luxury SUV
It’s Xpeng’s ultimate luxury SUV, featuring Nappa leather chairs with 26mm memory foam padding and a 12-layer ergonomic design.
A 10-point Shiatsu massage system, developed with orthopedic specialists, is available for all seats. Rear passengers also benefit from electrically adjustable backrests, heating, ventilation and massage.

The RWD Long Range (570 km) is powered by a 258 kW (346 hp) motor. It is built on Xpeng’s 800V high-voltage SiC platform, paired with a 5C lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LFP) ‘supercharging’ battery. This system allows charging from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes, with a peak power of 525 kW.
Free of rare metals
This battery comes with a capacity of 80.3 kWh or 94.6 kWh, and is a first in this segment, Xpeng claims, as it is free of rare metals such as cobalt, manganese, or nickel.
The 2025 G9 is Xpeng’s third major product update this year, following the preview of the new G7 earlier this year and the unveiling of the updated G6 last month.
Initially launched in 2022, the car started slowly, but Volkswagen convinced it to use it as a platform for its Chinese models. The German car builder invested $700 million in Xpeng.
34% of components G6 newly developed
The 2025 model year G6 has been redesigned, with 34% of the components newly developed and improvements to both exterior and interior for an even better user experience.
Thanks to the signature Fluid Tech design, the new G6 looks slimmer, more minimalist, and more contemporary than ever. New colors, including the striking Stellar Purple, offer more possibilities for personalization.
It shares with the G9 the 800-volts platform and the battery tech which should make it one of the fastest charging EVs in its class today, according to the company.
That means also charging from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes, in this case with a peak power of 451 kW (previously 215 kW and 280 kW). The Long Range promises a 570 km WLTP range.
Useful feature: a high-efficiency heat pump (standard on all versions) that heats the cabin and the battery from -20°C to +40°C in just over 4 minutes, for less energy loss in the cold
Outside and inside refreshment
On the exterior, the G6 now features a 1,942 mm wide LED light bar, integrated indicators, a tighter rear diffuser, and a matte grey Xpeng badge now placed on the bonnet. The wheel arches are now body-coloured, and the new ‘Ducktail’ design adds 5mm to the length of the car and increases visual stability.

The interior also received a refreshment, with 60% of the interior now finished with high-quality materials. Innovations include a new dashboard with wood grain finish, suede-effect headliner, an updated 9″ digital interior mirror (for Long Range and Performance), and a new steering wheel design, among others.
It features a floating instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, powered by a Snapdragon SA8295P chip and integrated with an X-GPT AI system.
Advanced infotainment supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with over-the-air updates via Xmart OS and voice AI . Standard ADAS: adaptive cruise, lane-keep, active lane change, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot warning, emergency braking, 360° camera with transparent chassis view, and fully automated parking
The front seats are equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, while the rear seats offer a 12-way backrest adjustment.
Ample space throughout the cabin and a large luggage space with 571 liters as standard and up to 1,374 liters with the rear seats fully folded. The center armrest offers additional space for up to five bottles.
